Tap at Borefts ’15. Pours dark brown with a ring tan head. Aroma of big fruity chilli, dark chocolate, dark fruits, roast and toffee. Flavour is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter. Medium bodied with a nasty chilli burn and soft carbonation. Another one ruined by the chillis..
Earlier Rating: 9/29/2013 Total Score: 3.9
Draft at BBF13. Pours near black with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate, toast, vanilla and bourbon. Flavour is over moderate sweet and bitter with a moderate pepper kick in the finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

25/IX/15 - on tap @ Borefts 2015 (Bodegraven) - BB: n/a (2015-1298) Thanks to 77ships and the Israeli beer tickers scene for sharing today’s beers!

Clear dark brown beer, no head. Aroma: sweet, maple syrup, very heavy, roasted, caramel, sugary, bourbon, vanilla. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots and lots of chillies, bit roasted, sweet touch. Aftertaste: nothing but burning chillies. Nope, that’s just fucking up what once was a nice beer...

Borefts VII. Day 1. Keg. As Hot and Spicy 4 (Madame Jeanette). Almost opaque dark brown beer, no head. A somewhat oily feeling palate with low carbonation. Smooth dark malts. Touch of emulsion paint. Spice. Smooth finish. For me a rare De Molen RIS miss.

2nd August 2011
GBBF. Opaque black beer, no real head. Sweetish dark malt with toffe and chocolate tones. The chilli is quite poky and blooms in heat and spice in the mouth. Finishes smooth with some unsweet dark chocolate underneath the chilli flames! Burning mouth aftertaste.A bit too poky for me. Love chilli im my food - not so much in my beer.

Keg at BBF 7, Bodegraven, 25/09/15. Black with no head. Nose is rich dark fruit, spice, chocolate, roast malt, burnt toffee, chilli notes. Taste comprises tangy dark fruit shreds, green pepper, dark malt, dark chocolate. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, light peppery heat in the close. Ok.
Earlier Rating: 10/12/2013 Total Score: 3.2
Tap at Borefts ’13, 27/09/13. Mid black with no head. Nose is dark roast, woody notes, toffee, vanilla fudge, boozey strains. Taste comprises light spice, cocoa, dark toffee, dark fruits, peppery. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light chilli spice in a slightly warming finish. Does what it says on the tin and a well balanced spicy beer at that.

Zwarte kleur zonder kraag. Ruikt vanille, pittig. Smaakt subtiel gekruid, peper. Aardig.
Earlier Rating: 9/29/2013 Total Score: 3.5
Hot & spici III. Zwarte kleur met weinig schuim. Zoetige rum, chocolade geur. Smaakt prima, zoetige en een lichte peper in de keel.

Tasted @ Borefts Beer Festival 2015. Spicy, but also a bit messy. Not much character aside from the peppers.
Earlier Rating: 10/2/2011 Total Score: 3.9
Draught @ BBF2011. Black pour, thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted burnt malts and some spices. Flavor is spicy chillies all the way. Tasted nothing else for the next half hour.

markextrae (4586) - Alingsås, SWEDEN, SWEDEN - OCT 2, 2015
shared sample at bbf, poured dark black with a small non lasting tanned head. it’s served pretty cold. so the spice is masked here. dark roasted malts, dried red fruit, caramel, murky coffe, taste is fairly hot. weird mouthfeel and taste. not good
Earlier Rating: 12/11/2013 Total Score: 3.5
bottle at home. poured a black colour with a tan head. direct hit from the chili pepper, the coffee and chocolate flavour are gone after a few sips. some dark fruits in the beginning smooth and balanced beer. if you like spiced beers this is the one. the peppers hit you right in the throat.

MrHangover (4693) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - SEP 30, 2015
Sampled @ Borefts ’15. Pours a pitch black headless beer. Looking forward to this one, I love a chili beer. Aroma is vegetal, roasty, chocolate, slightly peppery sensation already in the nose. Flavor is sweet, roasty and very one-dimensional. It’s the pepper burn that makes this one interesting, which is rather strong. Furthermore a bit boring, except for the peppers.
Earlier Rating: 9/28/2013 Total Score: 3.7
Draft @ Borefts 2013. (Hot & Spicy III) Pours a pitch black beer with almost no head on top. Small brownish hue coming around the edges of the glass. Aroma is slightly peppery, malty and some chocolate. Flavor is very mild on the pepper. There is certainly a burning sensation, but defintely not hot and spicy. Chocolate backbonen in the flavor as well. Peppers are not overpowering this one, but they leave a nice presence in the beer. Nice.

Thx! for sharing. Sampled draft @ Borefts 2015. Day 1. Drank most of the tasting glass since others couldn’t handle the heat. Black with no head. Nose is mocha caramel, sweet, flat, oily, molasses, odd light vegetable chili note in the nose. Chili is much better in the taste, nothing vegetable, nice lingering faintly fruity chili burn, strong but in good balance with sweet mocha, light roast, big sweetness combined with strong burn, faint vegetable note in the back but that oddly works, solid mocha, chocolate, syrupy. Solid syrupy mocha body. Works quite well, nice beer, quite enjoyed it, successful.
Earlier Rating: 9/29/2013 Total Score: 4.7
Hot & Spicy III. Sampled draft @ Borefts 2013. Black with a mocha head. Smell is sweet hick chocolate pie, thick chocolate chunks brownie’s, roasted malts & slight soy sauce. Taste is sweet brownies, chocolate chip cookies, sweet, chocolate pie, coffee, malt, chilli is only very faint in the back, almost absent which makes it seem like selling this as “Hot & Spicy” is basically overselling it even if this was a really good. Very full & creamy body.
