What’s not there in the aroma? A real bock aroma and not like some other Eisbock that start leaning towards Quadrupel or other other barley-wine type beers. Powerful stuff, sweet, very bitter, very hoppy, toffee. After swallowing it takes some time but then it starts burning in your throat. So complex, yet clean. Amazing.
On tap at Borefts Bier Festival, De Molen. Light hazy caramel colour, dense off white head. Aroma of pure German bockness indeed, very malty, caramel, sweet, light cognac notes, very nice. Flavour is sweet, malty, caramel/toffee, good bitterness in the finish. Despite the 16% still very drinkable, very smooth and fullbodied. Very very good bock. caesar (7153) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - NOV 2, 2009
Tap @ BBF. Dark brown color, thick creamy off-white head. Aroma of coffee, chocolat, roasted malts, indeed still in the style of an eisbock. Strong taste, bit alcoholic, quite bitter finish. Great stuff. Ober (2812) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - NOV 4, 2009
