330ml bottle @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki

Pours pitch black with a small beige head. Aroma has notes of roasted malts, licorice, ash and chocolate. Taste is quite malty and slightly roasty with hints of spices, licorice and ash. Finish is long lasting and slightly roasty. Quite well balanced and tasty, but not very Christmasy.

Bottled. The aroma has some roasted malts, caramel, some fruitiness and spice. Hazy, dark brown coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is sweet, light bitter, has some chocolate, caramel and spices. Bit dry palate.

From the bottle. Poured a dark brown with deep red along the edges. Finger’s worth of tan head. Smells of malts, coffee, and smokiness. Tastes somewhat sweet, decently bodied with fair carbonation, oily.

Thanks to Papsoe for this bottle. It’s a very dark brown pour with reddish highlights and a long lasting tan head. The flavor is rich, creamy with notes of chocolate, nuts and hints of spices. It’s a very tasty brew.

Bottle. A reddish dark brown beer, almost clear, and with a dense, fingerthick light tan head. Dried fruits, alcohol, roasted malts, chocolate and some hoppy notes on the nose. Roasted malts, chocolated, a faint touch of dried fruits and a little hoppyness, but not much bitterness. Super smooth, dry yet sweet and well carbonated. Overall, maybe a bit sweet, but indeed a nice beer. 110401

Tap at 4:20. Dark brown pour with a beige, film/foam head. Lots of burnt malts in the nose, some rubber, smoke and mocha. Medium sweet, very smokey, some salty ham, burnt malts, tar, rubber, coffee grounds. Medium to full in body with lively carbonation. Smokey finish, more ash, tar, and ham. Very nice brew.
