Coffee aroma with slight aple liqor notes. Flat and deep brown with no head. Perplexing...calvados is prominent with a coffee finish. A bit too liquor-ish for me.

Naja. 12/9/10/12//11

On draft at Borefts beer festival 2010. The calvados completely overpowered the normal excellent flavors of the beer and unfortunately ruined it for me. harrisoni (18801) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - DEC 29, 2010
At Borefts BF 2010. Served too cold. Very lovely coffee. Just a touch of apple on there at the end. Slight sourness, some sweet fruits. Good coffee, but I prefer the regular. fonefan (49527) - VestJylland, DENMARK - DEC 26, 2010

Draught @ Borefts Bier Festival 2010, Brouwerij de Molen, Overtocht 43, Bodegraven, Netherlands.
Clear dark brown color with a small to small average to large, frothy - fizzy - open, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, coffee, moderate alcohol - aceton - calvados. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, alcohol, calvados, dusty, wood. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic.
Cloudy brown with no head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and hints of calvados and oak. Dry and almost a little tart flavour with notable apple and calvados character on top of coffee and roasted flavours. Rounded and balanced flavour but lacks the big, pleasant mouthfeel usually associated with De Molen Holy (837) - GERMANY - DEC 8, 2010
Borefts Beer Festival 2010, on tap. Roast, strong calvados and alcohol in the nose and palate. Above average porter. BigMomma (243) - Leuven, BELGIUM - NOV 24, 2010

Has a black color with absolutely no head... .The aroma is an overpowered mix of calvados, alcohol and vanilla. All the subtleties of the Kopi Luwak not noticeable do to this agressive mix. The flavors are much the same as the aroma, but luckely there is still some fruitiness and roasted espresso left from the original.
If the calvados barrel aging would be much more elegant, just like the base beer, this would be a magnificent beer. Unfortunately it now stays just a decent beer that is beneath the level of the base beer.
Sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2010. Pours a hazy brown beer with a weak head. The aroma is cold coffee and some sweetness. The flavor is cold coffee, some bitterness and some alcohol. The palate is coffee and overall a good beer. sfhodense (4788) - Odense NØ, DENMARK - OCT 28, 2010
