( 750ml bottle, courtesy of Ungstrup ) Well another beer named after…the man, the myth, the beer legend. Pours an amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, vinous, brandy, oak, and vanilla. Flavor of vinous, caramel, green raisins, dried apricot, and some light spices. Happy 40th, Jens!
2009 Vintage Bottle at home, 30th September 27. Opens with no noise, and pours a flat, viscous orange beer, no head. Aroma is sweet, ripe fruit, liquor, barrel, musty. Taste is sweet, rich, dark fruit, cognac and wood notes, smooth, refined and aged, boozy reminds me of the Baladin Barleys. Delicious stuff and drinking great with 8 years of age. Bottle as a gift. Pours a clear caramel coloured beer without any head on top. Aroma defintely shows the age in the beer, lots of madeira, honey, booze, cognac and oak in there. Flavor is sweet with lots of overripe red and tropical fruits. Completely flat in the mouthfeel, cloying sweet finish and lots of booze in there. Still very nice! Bottle. Clear light amber pour with a white head. Sweet cognac bouquet. Sweet and syrupy with caramel malt and cognac highlights. Maybe even a bit of honey & melon in their. Almost mead like. Average body and mouthfeel. ctipping (2280) - Florida, USA - JAN 18, 2016
330 mL bottle. Murky deep orange. Smells of caramel malt. Oxidized with some sherry and oak. A little fruity. Tastes fruity too. Lots of oak. Raisins. Oxidized. Very sweet. Low carbonation. Heavy and sweet. I get no cognac, but it’s still pretty good.

Bottle 890/1134 from bierkoning. Bottled 2009. Hazy reddish brown color, no head. Aroma has sweet caramel notes, oak, some cognac. Balanced sweet body, honey, oak, some hoppy notes. Light body compared to 16%. No co2 reduces palate. Ferris (17117) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 7, 2015
Bottle - Sweet caramel and mellow balsamic. Cloudy copper. Sweet, lots of dark caramel and nice sweet sugary molasses notes. Not bad. mcberko (19871) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 7, 2015
Vintage 2009, 330mL bottle, pours a deep rusted opaque burgundy with a tiny white head. Nose brings out lots of cognac, with notes of oxidation, dark fruits, and alcohol. Flavour is extremely sweet, with lots of residual sugars, minimized booze, some caramel and a touch of cognac. The alcohol is very hidden; the sweetness is front-and-centre. Not overly complex, but a nice sipper. Very good. TorbenJensen (1590) - Valby, DENMARK - JUL 18, 2015
Slender foaming barley. Sweet aroma. The taste is explosive of sweet caramel, port wine, grapes, plums and a woody taste. It is a sweet barley with clear hints of fruit, heavy alcohol and malt. Soft, round and long finish where sweetness is highlighted. An exquisite beer that despite the sweetness, exudes quality and class.
