Good as pitch with ruby tints and an uncontrollable tan head that persists well. Smells like chocolate, bramble, cinder toffee, Oslo wheelie bin, an old pub carpet thats just been taken up; character-packed, musty, slightly pissy, ash-sprinkled, very decent . Too fizzy like only bottle-conditioned English stout tends to be: bonus point. I like the idea of a revered, big beers brewer like De Molen tuning their hand at a bog standard, low ABV, English-style session beer...and completely pulling it off. Makes me want to drink a shitload of stout right now, which in my book is kind of the complete point of a stout. Excellent brew no doubt, with bags of roasted character, apple and blackberry crumble filling scooped into a black plastic sack, warmed, with dark fruity balance. Spot on.

Its brown-black with a creamy head and it floods out of the bottle. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, licorice, and the same notes are found in the slightly sweet and dry flavour, and it has bitterness in the finish. It has surprisingly much flavour considering the low ABV nice!

small bottle. (too small heh) clear dark brown, good sized light brown head. mild aroma of coffee, mild hops, caramel, faint sweet roasted grains. flavor is roasetd grains, flowery and almost citrussy hops, end is quite roasted, hard roasted grains, almost charchoal notes. overall flavor profile is a bit messy with some faint sourness that probably is from hops, clashing with charchcoal notes towards the end. Not much body.

Bottle from Kris Wines, London. Poured a murky dark brown with a dissipating tan head and some sediment. Fruity aroma with some roast and chocolate notes. Similar elements in the roasted malt driven flavour. ok bitterness towards the finish. Perfectly drinkable and quite a bit in the tank for a beer of this strength, but Ive generally come to expect a bit more from these boys.

Christian (13341) - Odense, DENMARK - NOV 26, 2010
First Snowfall of the Season tasting in Odense. Very dark brown with a small off-white head. Mild malty aroma with roasted and coffee notes. Rather harsh roasted malty flavour on a thin background, with heavy carbonation making it fell even thinner.

Botlle from lbutikken, Copenhagen. Pour is dark clear brown - almost like a dark cola. The head is huge brownish with a fluffy appearence. The nose reveales quite a lot of carbonation and it tickles your nose. There is som malty nose along with both coffe and sweet caramel. Somwhere there is faint citric notes as well but they are not dominating the picture. The mouthfeel is very thin with a mild palate. The taste is a little bitter and quite fresh for a stout. Its malty and mild and very easy to drink. You sense that this is not a strong beer but the carbonation bites your lipps instead of the alcohol.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a beige head. Aromas are nutty with rich coffee with gritty cocoa. Yeasty with hints of berry and metal. Flavours are bitter roast coffee with dark chocolate. Dry hops to finish. Quite bloating. Similar too, but not as good as Brewdog Edge.
