Bottle 33cl from bierkoning, a cloudy amber-red beer with huge head and good retention. Nose is on barley sugar and honey. Aroma is very bitter and stringent with bitter orange peel notes and grapefruit hops, very bitter with intense resin and grassy hops. Very strange kind of beer, nice anyway a bit sharp. 33 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown with a small off white and collapsing head. Aroma is roasted malty and light spiced to hoppy note. Smooth and light fryity into the finish. Bakng yeasty, fruity and light caramelish flavoured. Smooth malty and light fruity finish. dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAR 6, 2012
Bottle. Aroma is loads of caramel, some fruity and spice, all covered in spicy hops. Flavour is medium sweet with caramel and fruit, touch of hop bitterness. Nice one. ElDesmadre (3984) - Mikołów, POLAND - FEB 29, 2012
Bottle from Bierkoning, many thanks! Reddish brown with a big head of medium durability. Aroma is caramel, fruity esters (red apples, apple puree, redcurrant), with a quite strong Czech herbal hop quality. Sweetish-sourish (vaguely vinous), very pleasant smell. Full body, taste is partly sweetish because of the fruitiness and malt, ending with a strong and durable hop bitterness and an aftertaste of apples, hops and some green olives. This is a really great interpretation of the style.

Dark copper pour with a white lid. Strong aromas of alcohol, caramel, citrus, floral, hops and malt. Its bitter and a little sweet from the caramel. The alcohol feel is quite strong. Its creamy and the citrus can be tasted almost in isolation at times. There’s a lot going on and the flavour profile varies almost each sip. Medium carbonation. Another really enjoyable offering from De Molen.

Bottle. Pours amber, with a solid head that rather quickly recedes to lacing. A very malt accentuated brew, with a good roasted malty aroma. Flavour follows suit with caramel and roasted malts, and good notes of nuts and dark fruits that continues through the finish. flip_soeperman (881) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 9, 2012
alcohol, bread, banana, grass, orange, hazy, frothy, tan foam, light sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, oily feel, average carbonation, long finish, tfredvik (2074) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 7, 2012
A slightly hazy medium amber reddish body with a creamy, long-lived head that laces the glass very well. The aroma is sweet, loaded with pleasantly overripe fruits, e.g. apples. Also caramel and some spices. Medium sweet taste with a medium to heavy bitter finish. The flavours are actually not that intense, and they are far from being as sweet as the aroma led me to believe. There is a nice resinous touch in the aftertaste, but also caramel and sweet plum, some faint dark dried fruits, citric hints and some alcohol. Medium to full body, creamy and smooth texture, soft to medium carbonation. Good stuff!

[33 cl bottle, enjoyed 7 months after bottling, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo]
Kleur: amber (niet helder) met een enorme gebroken witte schuimkraag.
Geur: Zoet, fruit, grapefruit, kruiden
Smaak: Voornamelijk kruidig, mout en hop. Ergens is licht zoet fruit proefbaar. De nasmaak is scherp/pittig en blijft lang plakken.
