Bottle at home. It’s an English strong ale eh? Well, can’t remember a better one, more traditional ones but who gives a fuck about that? I love this stuff. Amber with a thick yellowed off white head. Nice aroma of malts, some strength, berries, caramel. Flavour has some spice, citrus and hop bitterness, also with a non English yeasty notes. Yeah. BlazerT (1195) - Sosnowiec, POLAND - MAR 31, 2014
Another de Molen beer. Like usual very experimental, first of all it’s hardly to classify it’s style. The colour is brown, dark amber. Average head and average lacing. The aroma is very nice, some dark fruit esters combined with malts and caramel, some basement aromas. It has some features of belgian ale like characteristic yeasty and malty aroma. Taste is bitter but not striking bitter, some sweet malts in the middle and in aftertaste. Noticable pils malts. The textute is rather thick, average carbonation and medium body. Molenbier is another well balanced de Molen beer, which has some features of pilsner, belgian and english ale. Interesting but did not knocked me down. 33cl. Bottle.bartlebier (4080) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - FEB 28, 2014
Pours hazy dark orange with big off white head.
Aroma fruits, peach, pineapple, spice, toffee.
Taste strong bitter, toffee sweet, some spice.
Mouthfeel lively carbo, thin.
33cl bottle Edeka Mohr, Bonn 02/2014. Bottled 11/2012. Pours a very cloudy wooden mauve once yeast is poured in. Boozy fig marmelade nose. Aroma of fallen autumn leaves, maroni, mushroom. Higher bitterness in the taste than expected, making this even more medicinal-woody. Belgian yeastiness and carbonation. Lingering yeast-hoppy finish. Overall blunt mix of prime old flavours.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This hazy dark amber-brown beer pours with a huge foamy head. It has pineapple and peppery hop flavours, almond and toffee notes with a slight sugary sweet, extremely dry and tart finish. Case (300) - GERMANY - FEB 14, 2014
Pours hazy amber-red with gigantic exploiding off-white head. Immediately I am engulfed by aromas of Belgian yeast, very fruity, oranges and pineapple. Tasting reveals more sweet fruits, pineapple, honey, some spice. Medium body, high carbonation. Lovely t(r)ipple, not sure what’s supposed to be English about it though. jmgreenuk (9702) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - FEB 14, 2014
Bottle from De Molen. Poured a cloudy medium brown with a long-lasting thin white head. The aroma is caramel treacle toffee alcohol. The flavour is medium bitter sweet with a rich sweet malt alcoholic palate and a smooth short bitter finish. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. hobsch (505) - Cologne, GERMANY - DEC 22, 2013
Bottle 0.33l. Pours red to brown with a steady creamy beige head. Strong carbonation. Aroma is caramel, bread, yeast with basement. Taste is light sweet, light to medium bitter, caramel, roasted malt, earthy. Aftertaste is quite bitter, slightly sour. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden. Good. Bottle, 330 ml, into a snifter, ABV 7.5%, bottled on 22/7/11
Deep red to light amber colour on the body, with a tall off white and froathy head. Very good retention nevertheless, leaving medium lacing on the glass. Body is clear with good activity in it.
Aroma is quite malty, with caramel, light roasted malts, nicely hopped with noble hops.
Very nice taste, sweet, with caramel and toffee, light hoppy, with the alcohol being quite obvious and enhancing the flavours.
Medium thick body, nice carbonation with a bite on the tongue. Mildly dry palate.
Overall a very nice take on the style, really enjoyed it.
