Bottle (33cl) from Vinmonopolet (Vika), Oslo. Huge offwhite head, slowly diminishing, sticky appearance with pretty lace patterns. Slightly hazy, amber colour. Aroma of herbal hops, caramel, plum, wood, yeast, hint of licorice and a slight tartness. Medium body, lively yet soft carbonation. Taste is moderately sweet, before a powerful, resinous hop bitterness takes over. Well balanced overall. Hard to categorize, but pleasant and interesting. Dark ruby brew, fruity aroma. Carbonation under control.
Complex. Rather sour, cherries, rhubarb. Does not fit into standard categories. Vinous. Ends up bittersweet, there are strong hop elements dancing around a body that has plenty malt sweetness.
Fine, but one bottle is enough at a time. oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - NOV 21, 2011

Wallingatan, Stockholm. Deep amber colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is fruits, caramel, some mild alcohol as well as some nectary notes. Flavour is caramel malts, fruity and floral bitterness, some mild honey, nectar and mild toffeeish notes as well. Grassy and floral notes in the finish.
Bottled. The aroma has citric hops, caramel, toffee malts, light toasted, oranges, hint of spice (cinnamon or something alike). Hazy, orange-brown coloured beer with an off-white, creamy and rocky, big head. The taste is light-moderate bitter initially and has caramel malty sweetness. The finish is more citric hopbitter. Medium bodied. Good. Idiosynkrasie (7516) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JUL 25, 2012
330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy reddish amber colour with huge, firm, frothy to creamy, lacing, white to off-white head. Aroma is slightly sweet toasted malty and minimally grainy, with some bitter hop emanating from the huge head, decent hints of dark fruit and chocolate. Taste is moderately sweet toasted malty, grainy, dark fruity notes transform to a chocolately touch. Sticky finish. Not to its disadvantage more lively carbonated than an "English" English Strong Ale.

Tap. Clear dark amber/brown body with an average sized white head. Aroma/taste: complex, smokey, leather, sweet, floral aroma with a sweet fruity woody body and a penetrating significant bitter finish. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Draft at Monks. Cloudy amber pour with a pillowy white top. Sweet grassy notes off the top. Earthy floral flavors. Wildflower honey. Interesting mix of amber fruit, brown fruit and bright herbs. Spicy bite as well. I like it. Maybe having it a bit too cold. Still feels nothing like an ESB.
