Bottle, 330 ml, into a snifter, ABV 7.5%, bottled on 22/7/11
Deep red to light amber colour on the body, with a tall off white and froathy head. Very good retention nevertheless, leaving medium lacing on the glass. Body is clear with good activity in it.
Aroma is quite malty, with caramel, light roasted malts, nicely hopped with noble hops.
Very nice taste, sweet, with caramel and toffee, light hoppy, with the alcohol being quite obvious and enhancing the flavours.
Medium thick body, nice carbonation with a bite on the tongue. Mildly dry palate.
Overall a very nice take on the style, really enjoyed it. PhillyCraft (8200) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 24, 2014
On tap at Monks Café, pours orange brown with medium sized head. Aromas and flavors are caramel and sweet malting, light honey, yeast, and hops. Finishes with hop and English tasting malts. Lighter to medium in body. Not too bad but got overshadowed by the Bo and Luke. nealblind (2019) - Seattle, Alabama, USA - AUG 23, 2014
Cloudy mid brown pour big head. Aroma fruit, cherries, caramel, leather, yeast. Tastes boozy, slight brine, caramel, firm bitter. Slight dry warming palate. Pulls off strong English ale while maintaining balance. popiela (1044) - Poznañ, POLAND - APR 13, 2016
Niezbyt obfita piana, klarowny bursztyn. Butelka 0,33l, butelkowana 29.08.13.
11.2 oz. from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, NY. Date on the bottle is 29/08/12. Pours a cloudy amber with a large tan head that lasted until the last sip and left a thick coating of foam behind as the glass was slowly emptied. Pleasant aroma of caramel wit a few spicy notes. The flavor is caramel and malt with just a bit of spice. Starts to dry out on the palate almost immediately. Very mild bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied. Very solid.

Draught @ TBF ’11. Very sweet beer, bit of a manderine smell to it. Bitter, malty, fresh. Good beer, not extreme. mrmartin (786) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 13, 2011
Hazy Copper Pour with creamy tan head, Fruity nose with hint of resiny hops. medium creamy body. Semisweet malty front with resiny hops and a mild slightly dry lingering finish. Well balanced and drinkable. berlinoise2go (689) - NORWAY - NOV 1, 2011
Bottle (33cl) from Vinmonopolet (Vika), Oslo. Huge offwhite head, slowly diminishing, sticky appearance with pretty lace patterns. Slightly hazy, amber colour. Aroma of herbal hops, caramel, plum, wood, yeast, hint of licorice and a slight tartness. Medium body, lively yet soft carbonation. Taste is moderately sweet, before a powerful, resinous hop bitterness takes over. Well balanced overall. Hard to categorize, but pleasant and interesting. KnutAlbert (6798) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 11, 2011
Dark ruby brew, fruity aroma. Carbonation under control.
Complex. Rather sour, cherries, rhubarb. Does not fit into standard categories. Vinous. Ends up bittersweet, there are strong hop elements dancing around a body that has plenty malt sweetness.
Fine, but one bottle is enough at a time.
