From tap. Pours clear and golden amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is slight cheesy and dark malty and overripe fruity. Smooth caramelish, fruity and thick syrupy sweet yet smooth dry wooden too. Mild vanilla and lingering fruity into a mellow finish. Scary wellhidden 17% ABV

Ungstrup (37861) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAR 23, 2011
Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, malt, caramel, and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, malt, cognac, caramel, and a bit of wood, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Thanks pinball for sharing.

joergen (28377) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 25, 2010
Draught at Borefts Bier Festival 2010. Clear orange brown coloured with a small off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel, dried fruits and marzipan with notes of rye bread. Sweet and fruity flavour of caramel, dried fruits and cognac with notes of marzipan, alcohol and hops. Sweet and warming alcoholic finish. Well hidden alcohol.

omhper (25243) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - NOV 19, 2010
Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm. Clear reddish brown, miniscule head. Aroma of cognac and wild strawberries. Sweet and soft with deep, vast malt character. Fruity and intensely malty, warming and potent, yet balanced and elegant. Soem figs and port, fairly low bitterness. Fantastic stuff, like a cloud of flavour that surrounds all your senses!

Travlr (25182) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - OCT 2, 2010
Draught at Borefts Beer Festival 2010. Resembles a port wine more so than a beer, but tasty enough, and hides its alcohol well.

Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 23, 2011
Bottle 18 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a hazy amber with no head. Very sweet nose, caramel and overripe fruit - not so much Cognac in the nose. Very solid body, completely flat though. Sweet caramel and honey, vanilla and an oxidized touch. The barrel comes through a little here. Very warming alcohol in the finish. Delicious indeed but perhaps also a little sticky. 230311

Clear red amber beer, no head. Light soft palate. Sweet malt with subtle port flavours with lovely sweet cognac. A little lactose sweetness in the undertone. Very well hidden 17.0%. Some strawberry sweetness before a dry finish. Immensely drinkable and I spent a good part of the second day with 8 glasses of this treat. It stood up to and was better than every other beer at the festival (and there were many great ones) with the exception of the Kaggen. Absoloutely delicious.

8th and 10th March 2011
Draft at Arends Nest. This great beer has developed further. Amber beer, clear. Zero head. A light touch of apple on the nose. This tastes like a quality sweet dessert wine that has a drop of cognac added. Lovely! On the 10th had a couple of glasses where it came across as more sherryish with sweet woody cognac. My work mates and many others - including the bartender - could not accept this as a beer. Shame for them - I think it’s a classic beer.

Koelschtrinker (20585) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - APR 1, 2012
Intensiv cremiger, daneben leider zuckriger Beginn. Auch im Verlauf zu süß, Aromen gehen darin unter, der Alkohol ist zwar nicht direkt erkennbar, spiegelt sich aber in der Süße wieder. 11/5/6/8//6
