Mooi & Meedogenloos combines both Belgian style Quadruple and Imperial Stout. Sweet and spicy like the first but roasted and full bodied like the second. 21° Plato, 81.7 EBC, Czech hops: bittering hops Premiant, as final hops Saaz.

Bottle. Pours brown with a light brown head that seems to last forever. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruits and caramel. Taste is also dark fruits and chocolate that lingers for quite a while.

Quite an odd beer with an unusual aroma. The pour is a purely opaque black with a thin roaring beige head that settles slowly. The nose has odd fruity notes, noble hops, floral and a very mild roast. A deceiving nose to say the least. The flavour has a mild smokey roasted malt that intensifies quickly and an enboldened noble hop flavor. Suprisingly different from the aroma with a prominent chocolate malt and a bitter dry finish. Does a really great job of hiding >10.2% ABV and an odd brew overall.

MIld aroma of dirt and cola. Clear maroonish brown and thick tan head, attractive lacing. Full body and sweet. Maraschino cherries and figs with an unusually bitter orange peel overtone. that lingers on the palate. The two competing flavors do not blend well together and offer no sense of balance. Weird, uunpleasant beer.

Pours ...clear black :) with brown creamy top, good stamina. Aroma is intense fruitiness (seems that from hops also) mixed with roasted malt, coffee and sweet maltiness ( I really start to like Saaz hopping). Taste is sweet with good bitter both from chocolate malt and hops. Alco is well hidden so no negative aspects of that in flavor. Well, mild spiced on tongue. Good bitter, light dry finish. This one reminds me of porter, but with more sweetness and noble hops in aroma. Weird to be Belgian strong ale, but overall - very enjoyable.

Dark brown, with a lasting head. Took a while to pour. Sweet fruit on the nose...like apricots, raisins, dates. Taste is fruity, sweet, caramel, butterscotch. Medium body. A slightly dry and sour finish. I have yet to be disappointed by De Molen.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2015 mooi zwart, met normale bruine kraag.
aroma: kandij suiker, chocolade, caramout, gebrande mouten.

Bottle. Dark mahogony beer with a dark cream head. caramel and light toffee aroma with light cocoa. Caramel and light roast flavor with light coffee. Medium-plus bodied. Toffee and sweet malt linger with light coffee and brown sugar.

Gorgeous red-purple appearance, far too much toffee-colored head, cognac nose, bitter black currant and brandied cherries in an alcoholic wet dream. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

11.2oz bottle. Poured clear garnety-brown with a short, dense beige head.. set up nicely in the glass. The aroma picked up an interesting blend of dry-roasted chocolate, raisins, and dates, with warm fruit and some berries as it warmed.. it somehow made its way back to chocolate on the back of the nose. The flavor found a heavier dose of spiced dark fruits than the nose indicated, with chocolate and a little vanilla down deep.. berry seeds and light cocoa bitterness on the edges.. finished with a good blend of spicy, fruity Belgian yeast and chocolate. Medium-bodied and spicy on the palate.. higher carbonation.. there was a lot going on here, and I really enjoyed it.
