Bottle, 10.2%. Fruity aroma. Very dark brown colour, seems hazy. Small light brown head. Nicely roasted flavour, sweet liquorice, raw liquorice. The finish is creamy and roasted with a clean hop and roasted barley bitterness. Bamsen78 (5616) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - FEB 28, 2013
Bottle. Pours hazy dark copper brown with airy light tan head. Dark atoma of malt and caramel with a distinct note of dried fruit. Complex taste of roasted malt, caramel, fruit, liquorice and coffee beans. A nice thing but quite boozy. Ratman197 (15608) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - FEB 26, 2013
Bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of milk chocolate, vanilla, light carmel and a hint of fruittiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roastiness, milk chocolate, fruittiness and light vanilla with a smooth lingering chocolate finish. Xstream (242) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 20, 2013
appearance: Dark brown with a huge foam top. Great lacing!
smell: Dark choclate, ripe fruit, candi sugar malts.
taste: Sweet and bitter deep dark chocolate and licorice like. Some dark ripe fruits and quite a hint of alcohol. Is a bit like a stout, but sweeter and a very strong bitter kick.
mouthfeel: Medium carbonation. Medium thickness, just like the taste suggests.
overall: It has a nice deep flavor of all the nice things (Chocolate, ripe fruits, sweet and bitter), but lacks depth and development. Also it’s just a tad too alcohol heavy tasting to really enjoy for me. Didn’t like it actually. They have way better beers. I do like the flavor profile but this one just doesn’t work somehow. I could throw it away and not feel bad about it. banii (240) - Sola, NORWAY - FEB 14, 2013
Bottle from 2012. Darker than expected, almost black. Moderate carbonation in this bottle (it varies). Aroma of dark fruits, belgian yeast and grass. Taste is full, well balanced, with aspects of dark chocolate, oak (!) and some vanilla. It actually reminds me of barrel aged Yeti (GD). Bitter ending where you can taste the saaz-hop. Really good.

Bit odd. Not unpleasant. Too much cola. I like De Molen, even when they’re not brilliant they are still interesting. Just like me. Tmoney99 (15114) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 31, 2013
Bottle. Poured clear dark brown with an average to large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate complex hop floral aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Solid balanced bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a smooth complex solid beer.
