330ml bottle at House of Belgium, Xiamen. Pours black with an off white head. Aroma of roast malt and chocolate. Sweetish taste, can feel the quad element. Bitter finish.

Another brew repatriated from Amsterdam on a Rhine River trip. Thank you Die Bierkoning. I pour the 330 ml bottle in my favorite domestic snifter glass. Black, certainly, and a brief light tan top. The snifter gets lifted for a sniff. An assault on the nose, chocolate, raspberry and baked bread. A taste, only better. There is charcoal, dark chocolate, black licorice, malt and plum. It concludes with a light bitterness. Very, very nice. Shared with my daughter on a great fall afternoon and appreciated all around. So do I go back to Amsterdam for just the beer?

330mL bottle from International Beer Collector. BB 29/12/21 Pitch black body, dense inch of tan espresso-like foam persists. Smells dark & ominous - dark chocolate, dark honeycomb, cookie/biscuit thing in there too, dark plums & berry esters, raisins, hint of spice. Velvety smooth texture, creamy, rich without a hint of being cloying, very fine carbonation to it. Just tremendously rounded overall - cocoa, chocolate pudding, honey, toffee, biscuit, touch of vanilla & licorice, hints of blackcurrant & black cherry & raisins developing on the finish. Bitterness lowish, slight sort of tannin lingers with the subtlest whiff of booze. Beautiful & Ruthless indeed!

Good rostiness, choco, dark fruits, dates, spices, very dark with a good beige head, medium/full body, average carbonation, taste is similar and quit intense...very good.
