Bottle. A sweet aroma, quite malty, a little bit fruity in the background. The large brown head is foamy and creamy with a long duration. The body is black. A strong taste of malt, strong amount of roasted malt, some chocolate. The finish is long and quite bitter, very nice. The body is strong, oily and creamy with a soft carbonation. A very good beer!

Tap at Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Black ink, lovely lace, dried fruit and candy on the nose, which however doesn't really wow as quite subdued. More than makes up for it on the sweet, bitter, full, yet elegant palate. A delicious imperial stout. Looooong finish of licorice and coffee beans. Yum yum ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Barwa czarna, spora piana, redukuje się do niskiej obrączki. W aromacie paloność, lukrecja, kawa, alkohol. W smaku wytrawnie, paloność, nutka wanilii, sporo alkoholu.

330ml bottle pours out dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is nice chocolate roast malts some peat smoke and a nice sweet pit fruit. Taste is more of the chocolate some ash notes and a rich malt on the end.

Scent of coffee, chocolate, soy and licorice. Black malt, dark coffee, dark chocolate and soy in the taste. Good bitterness that fills the mouth forever. Good beer but not so special. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

On tap. Black color, tan head, oily texture. Aroma of whiskey, plums, chocolate. Medium bitter, medium sweet. Well done.

Bottled 29.12.2016. Black colour with brown head. Aroma is coffee, ash, alcohol. Light bitterness. Full body. Unbalanced with too much alcohol. A bit disappointing.

Strong caramel amber . with enough bitterness to balance, yet it seems under attenuated. 4/12

330ml bottle pours dark cola brown with zero head. Aromas of dark chocolate, caramel malt, liquorice and dried fruit. Flavours of cocoa, coffee, molasses, roasted malt, ash, prunes, raisins, and herbal characters. Satisfying balance of dark sugar and espresso bitterness. Plenty of body with long finish. Another classy overing from De Molen.

Bottle 33cl. Opaque deep brown to black. Almost no head. Just a slim lace on liquid surface. The aroma is roasted malts, esters, molasses, prune, smoke. Medium to full body. Flat to soft carbonation. Rich malty flavour start. Treacle, roast. Later you can acquire the note of dried fruit, a hint of smoke and moderate booziness. The bitterness is fairly restricted. Nice brew but not among de molen’s best.
