Pours deep brown with almost zero head. Nose is loads of coffee, roasted malts, chocolate, chilli, pepper. Medium sweet taste with notes of coffee, chocolate, caramel, dark dried fruits. Alcohol is discretely there. Lingering and balanced malt bitterness in the aftertaste. Low carbonation, full bodied, sticky mouthfeel. Great IS.

Icedwarf (1765) - Etten-Leur, NETHERLANDS - JUN 18, 2017
Rasputin volgens etiket. Zwart bier zonder schuim. Smaak is krachtig, warm en zoet met iets van koffie, karamel en fruit zoals bessen, aardbei en een lichte cognac smaak. Top bier om van te genieten!

nearbeer (5563) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 15, 2017
33 cl. bottled 18 Dec. 2014. Deep mahogany with a thin topping of cream. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, toasted nut and a dash of soy. Flavor is dark chocolate, soy, bread, toasted nut and red wine with a bit of the barrel. Medium-plus body has a nice balance and low-medium carbonation. A bit boozy even after 3-1/2 years of bottle aging.

can, 10.4%; black with light brown head. odour: coffee, chocolate, ash, tobacco, dried fruits, caramel, alcohol; taste: alcoholic sharpness, and again dried fruits, chocolate. alcohol not hidden... full body, soft carbonisation, texture to thin for all the aroma. nice bitterness to balance the sweetness.

PowY (993) - AUSTRIA - MAY 28, 2017
330 ml can as Rasputin, 10.4% ABV. Pours a nearly black red-brown with a creamy, light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee, fudge, walnut - rather mildly roasted notes along with some herbal hoppy notes. Full body with a medium to medium/heavy sweetness and a light to medium bitterness in the end. Finishes pretty alcoholic with a light alcoholic burn. Flavor of roasted malt, molasses, toffee, fudge, dates, dark fruits and a more pronounced roasted character towards the finish (dark chocolate, licorice) together with some bitter, hoppy notes. A little too much booze.
