UPDATED: JUN 30, 2017 sometimes I wonder if these chocolate / coffee imperial stouts aren’t really essentially glorified, alcoholic versions of those iced coffees you can get at the grocer, but actually, gat damn I never had a mocha frappe like this bad boy

Keg at The Pint Shop, Oxford, Wednesday 19th April 2017 in the company of Tanner, Sam and Jude. Amazed that I have not had this before, to be fair I probably have had it and assumed I’d already rated it. Smooth, creamy, lots of coffee but with a super indulgent feel, this is a rich and full in the mouth beer, it’s really great. Very Indulgent, creamy its too easy drinking, lovely. Czarne, nieprzejrzyste, piana beżowa, zbita. Aromat kawy, wiśni, czekolady i śliwek. W smaku dużo kawy, suszonych owoców i potężne słodowe ciało. Alkoholowy Posmak miesza się z ziołową goryczką dając Posmak likieru. Bardzo dobre.

Tap at Taphouse. Pours a nice dark brown/black color. Aroma is of coffee grounds and malts. A bit disappointing aroma. Taste is much better very smooth, coffee, dark malts with some sweetness.

Faathoven (104) - Barcellona P.G., ITALY - MAR 6, 2017
Pours dark brown with no head at all. Aroma of roasted coffee, carafa malts, dried plums, brown sugar, some smokiness. Flavour is quite sweet up front, then the roastiness comes to balance. I can distinctly detect the carafa malts as if I was crushing them in my mouth. And this gives a good amount of smokiness to the flavour. Unfortunately, in sum, the taste is quite boring, and the aftertaste is loosened. Medium body, oily texture, soft to flat carbonation. Alcohol (11,6% on the label) well hidden. Enjoyable for almost half bottle. Then...
