330ml bottle at House of Belgium, Xiamen. Bottled 2016 and labelled as 11.4%. Pours dark brown black with a minimal head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Similar taste, sweet with some bitterness. Nice but lacking a little something.

McWorta (1627) - LUXEMBOURG - FEB 11, 2017
Black with a lightly tan head, good lacings. Aromas of coffee/mocha, roasted malts, dark chocolate and a light dark fruit note develop. Surprisingly tangy up front, developing a light smoothness with a short sweetness and pronounced roast bitterness and delicate coffee acidity. Lasting finish and hides its abv well.

ArtificialCyst (1192) - Szczecin, POLAND - JAN 27, 2017
Bottle from Elysium. Aroma: Really bad oxidation, soy sauce, cheap coffee aroma, nuts. Appearance: Sherrry and soy sauce, honey, coffee. Palate: Medium-high body, low carbonation, sweet finish,

Bottle. Poured dark brown with a moderate creamy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium to heavy toasted chocolate and coffee with a small alcohol aroma. medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted chocolate malt flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer.

2013 bottling at home from EU local swap, from i think benzai, cheers!
tonnes of coffee on the nose of this but looking at ingredients list no sign of it having been included, so good use of malts. Chocolate, cocoa, toast, coffee flavour, medium bodied, deceptive drinkability, light carbonation, fruity coffee finish. good stuff, saved best til last

ContemplateBeer (2089) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - DEC 21, 2016
UPDATED: DEC 22, 2016 11.2 oz. bottle shared with Boo; from Louisville Beer Store; bottle dated 8/5/15; funny enough, it’s at 11.6%, even though the 2015 bottles are supposed to be 10% again. Aroma: Moderate coffee roast to the fore with slightly lesser peanut butter fudge with a chocolate drizzle. Appearance: Dark garnet near black with a bubbly tan head that settles into a ring. Flavor: Drier chocolate with an undercurrent of coffee roast up front; peanut lingers on with some light bitterness towards the finish. The coffee here is reminiscent of Brazil Cerrado, which has often reminded me of roasted peanuts. Palate: Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: The coffee cherry character here is really well done, and sets it apart from examples that showcase only the roast notes. A stout I’d recommend to any coffee lover.

Dyum (15) - - DEC 19, 2016

Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - DEC 14, 2016
Poured into a snifter, the appearance was a black color with a quickly dissipating finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that left a sly speckled lace. The aroma blends wonderfully between the roasty coffee to the sweet milk and dark chocolate. Dark fruits do play ever so subtle. The flavor, once again, blends wonderfully between the sweet and the roast. Adds a touch of ash, and then the dark fruits pop in underneath. Semi-sticky sweet to roasty aftertaste with a sly sticky sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Perhaps a bit thinner than expected but I do see a 2015 bottling date, so no harm no foul on the feel, it just smoothed out a lot more. Overall, nicely aged RIS, sure a bit thinner in the feel but this is an aged review and I don’t think it’s fair to under rate for style since this is an older bottle.
