COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sometimes things go wrong at a brewery. While brewing our Donder & Bliksem a mistake was made and we added a lot of malts that weren’t suppose to go in this brew. This is how our Bohemian Lager turned into a Schwarzbier. As you see, we turn our Difficulties into a Virtue.

33cl from DeMolen biershop.

330 ml bottle. Bottled 17.11.2011.
Pours a brown colour with a small white creamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, tar and rye bread. Flavour of roasted malts, grassy hops, grains, rye bread, chocolate and light smokiness. Medium bodied, harsh mouthfeel and a mouth-drying finish of very dry roasted malts and hay. Quite rough and grainy, but has some interesting elements.

330ml bottle

Bottled on 17/11/2011 - Pours dark brown, almost black with a large foamy head. Roasty and malty aroma with some bready and metallic notes. Taste is roasty with chocolate notes, hints of caramel malts and licorice. Salty and slightly roasty finish. Nice, quite well balanced and enjoyable.

Aroma feels slightly contaminated. It is slightly sour with some roastiness, coffee, hints of chocolate and vegetables. Flavour is rather roasted with coffee, some chocolate, hints of metal and vegetables. Dry stuff. Decent.

Rather weak schwarz. I can see why this is a mistake. Watery with weak palate. Then again it is also a De Molen. Some chocolate, raisin, fruit. Still pretty, just not regular De Molen standard. Bottle from De Bierkoning.

TET (3168) - Kaarina, FINLAND - FEB 24, 2012
A colablack beer with a medium and beige head. Aroma is ryebready and sour, roastiness, some sweetness and herbs. Taste is (rye)bready, lots of roastiness, still enough of sweetness, also dry, herbal bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium bodied, nice carbonation. Basic, bready and herbal schwartzbier without weaknesess.
