Black to brown body, small light brown head. Aroma has chocolate and mämmi. Sweet roasted malt, some nuttyness and bitter chocolate on flavour. Nice toastyness, almost smoked. Good palate. kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 30, 2013
The head is robust, body black a bit red. It smells darkmalty, sweet, aromatic, a bit sour-creamy. The taste is intensive darkmalty, roasty, sweet, refreshing, chocolate, bit coffee-bitter. Good 12/12/11/12/11/12/ GothGargoyle (2588) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 26, 2013
Dark ruby brown with a small beige head. Aroma is raisins, dates, grape juice, brown sugar, plums. Medium bodied, bittersweet on the palate with some tannins on the finish. Not as rich as the aroma was suggesting. Taste is dates, earl grey tea, chicory, hint of molasses. kraddel (9335) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - JUN 4, 2013
pours veryu deep brown, good white foam, yet the first molen in a list that aint TO big of a foam lol
smell is malty, sugary .
taste is pretty german-ish, but still very nice. actualy, this might be the best german-ish beer i’ve had yet ( or in a lond time ) it has those malts, but a bit burned. no stout , though !
grainy, bit of caramel-sugar-sweetness, but the grains, malts etc are far more noticable . it actualy pretty ok ! i dont know if i had a schartzbier before ( have to check) but this might be an actual german style that is drinkable ! waaw ! caesar (7397) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAY 20, 2013
Bottled, nov 2011. Dark color, short brown head. Aroma of dark malts, coffee, hint of licorice, some grassy hop, blackberry and bramble. Quite bitter taste, again the fruitiness of the dark malts. Although it is 1.5 years old, it still is very nice actually.

330 ml bottle. Bottled 17/11/2011. From bierkompass.de.gEUS (1637) - Linden, BELGIUM - MAY 9, 2013
Dark brown almost black colour with a tiny tan head.
The aroma is dry malty, liquoricy and salty. The flavour is quite a like. Grainy malt, mild hops and spices in the flavour. Quite nice.
330 ml bottle at home - bottled 17/11/2011. Pours deep brown with a reddish hue. Aromas of nuts, raw earth, toffee, caramel, roast. Medium body with lingering sweetness and bready kind of wee-ish effect? Dry finish. Taste is malts and chocolate chip cookies . Strange beer, yet quite drinkable and enjoyable. Average aromas and flavour though. jmgreenuk (10364) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - APR 15, 2013
Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a dark brown colour with a thin tan head. The aroma is rich malt and liqourice, leading to a strong bitter flavour with coffee and roasted malt. For a "mistake" it’s not so bad at all! tderoeck (10617) - Gent, BELGIUM - APR 12, 2013

Clear dark purple to black brown beer, irregular huge creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive. Aroma: hoppy, citrus, grassy, hints of mocha and caramel on warming up. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: some citrus, bit sourish, sweet touch with notes of caramel, pretty bitter and hoppy, spicy, almost peppery even. Aftertaste: lots of citric hops, bit fruity, resinous, very bitter dry ending, overall sourish, hints of mocha and cocoa powder on warming up.
33 cl bottle from de hopduvel. Dark brown with no head. Aroma of roasted malts, bread. Taste is a like ovolmaltine chocolate. Not bad. ***
