Very dark brown colour. Light roast malt aroma and hint of liquorice. Creamy, malty taste. Hints of treacle, cocoa, coffee and smoke. Overall balance is quite light and drinkable. Grima (2499) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - JUL 8, 2012
Into the glass pours a deep black beer, which does not transmit light. The head is creamy fine. Sweet smells of chocolate, overall very malty, with some caramel and liquorice in the background. Starts with lots of roasted coffee and chocolate, with lots of dark malts and licorice. The middle part is slightly yeasty, again with lots of chocolate and coffee flavor. Goes into a slight hoppy finish, slightly yeasty, with a lot of coffee and chocolate!

Bottle from De Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Cola coloured with decent carbonation but no head. Sweet, slightly earthy malts aroma with a touch of grassy hops. Flavour was similar with a warming alcohol finish. Good.
