Sometimes things go wrong at a brewery. While brewing our Donder & Bliksem a mistake was made and we added a lot of malts that weren’t suppose to go in this brew. This is how our Bohemian Lager turned into a Schwarzbier. As you see, we turn our Difficulties into a Virtue.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and bread. The flavor is malt, caramel, bread, and roasted malt, leading to a dry, roasted, and slighltly liquorice finish. Not a bad mistake :-)

Opaque dark brown beer, big fluffy pale tan head. Light dry palate with mild minerally crispness. Dry malt, vague roast and a little spice. Whisper of unsweet caramel. Dry spicy finish. It’s a little dry and flirts with dull.

Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 3, 2012
Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear brown with a reddish hue and a small off-white head. Sweet roasted malt in the nose with a metallic edge. Medium body, lightly chocolatey roast, again a little metal and a dry malt bitterness. Sort of a bordeline beer between a Schwarzbier and a Baltic Porter. 310112
