Matured on oak casks from Laproaig. That means lots and lots of peat.

laiti (8505) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 26, 2014
33 cl bottle @ home. Bottled 28.08.2012, BBE 28.08.2037
Aroma is rather neat with peaty notes, licorice and smoke. Flavourn is salty with peat, smoke, islay whisky and some licorice. Confusing stuff; somewhat nice but then again a bit too salty and peaty.

olio (10434) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 26, 2014
33 cl bottle.
Pours dark copper color with a small head. Aroma is strong with islay whisky, wood and malts, some chocolate notes also. Flavor of chocolate, topacco, ash, caramel and licorice. Smooth palate but not very pleasant.

lusikka (7819) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 26, 2014
330 ml bottle. Pours a brown colour with a small head. Aroma of peat, leather and burnt rubber. Flavour of roasted malts, loads and loads of residual sugar, burnt rubber and some wooden notes. Medium bodied and thin mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Horrible balance. Yeah, peat is there but everything else is missing.

tiong (7452) - Espoo, FINLAND - APR 26, 2014
330ml bottle from De Molen Beershop

Pours pitch black with a tiny bubbly head. Aroma of peaty malts, roastiness, licorice, wood, oak and vanilla. Taste is sweet, peaty and woody with hints of licorice, roastiness, oak and smoke. Finish is sweet, peaty and woody with hints of sweet syrup. Quite unbalanced imperial stout, the peaty notes don’t really fit in here.

daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - APR 10, 2014
Black pour, no head. Oh good god this is nasty. Bandaids, hospital cleaner, new garden hose. This is pretty damn nasty.

Beerhunter111 (21987) - P´Castle, GERMANY - MAR 28, 2014
Sehr dunkelbraunes, fast schwarzes Bier mit geringer bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmalzig, Kaffee, Schokolade, holzig. Geschmack intensiv röstmalzig, holzig, Kaffe, Schokolade, leicht alkoholisch.

hopscotch (11175) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 11, 2014
Bottle... Mostly clear dark ale with almost no head. The aroma is heavily smoky and peaty Scotch whiskey with some caramel and vanilla thrown in for good measure. Medium to full-bodied with soft carbonation. Unfortunately, the flavor is not pleasant as all that smokiness and peatiness in the nose transforms into cardboard and smoky charcoal. Heavily carbonic, but cloyingly sweet at the same time. Unpleasant cardboard finish. Bottle courtesy of ctipping!

bjorninn (43) - - MAR 6, 2014
Á in de Wildeman.

Abijen (2571) - ’s-Hertogenbosch, NETHERLANDS - DEC 13, 2013
Pours a pitch black beer with a not very long lasting beige head. Smells peated, burned, coffee and smoked. Tastes very sweet, burned and peated. Bit weird. Medium body, sticky texture and a low carbo.
