Bottle shared pours dark brown with a ring tan head. Aroma is massive peat upfront, with chocolate, roasted malt, wood and licorice. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Long sweet finish with smoke. Full bodied with no real carbonation.

Aged 3.5years. Pours completely black. Lots of oak and peat aroma. Taste is complex with interesting flavors like wasabi vanilla whiskey etc. a really interesting stout for sipping.

Bottle, bottled August 2012. Pours a dark brown, almost headless beer with little carbonation going on in the glass. Aroma has a big peaty notes, mostly boozy and sweet chocolate going on. Flavor is sweet and very strong, loads of boozy alcoholic notes are shining trough. Has a firm, burning alcohol sensation in the back. I’m really getting the Laprhoaigh here, but missing some balance unfortunately. Could be too old?

Poured from a bottle it is a dark brown no head. The aroma is shoe polish. The taste is like chalk and what I would imagine shoe polish would’ve. It’s like a charcoal left by a burned out campfire very unique. And it is flat ftom the bottling or ?

From a 33 cl bottle. Vintage 2012. Pours black with a feint head. Smoky peat aroma. Flavors of peat and oak. Very little carbonation. I want to like it, but.....

Aniela (4215) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 11, 2015
Bottle at home. Black beer with a minimal head. Leather and some tar aroma. Smoket and leather flavour. I really didn´t like this at all. The original Rasputin died in all that smokey whiskey flavour.

_angst_ (5009) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUL 26, 2014
Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours very dark reddish brown with a very small bubbly offwhite head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sweet, malty and smokey with roasted malts, biscuits, burnt caramel, hay, moist soil, peat, single malt whisky, burnt wood, smoked ham and hints of lemon peal. Taste is sour and malty with dark bread, lemon juice, sour milk, peat, burnt wood, vanilla, whisky, acetone, acetic acid and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is dry, tart and medium bodied. Finish is sour with dark bread, lemon juice, sour milk, peat, burnt wood, biscuits, whisky and hay. Infected trainwreck…

rlgk (18844) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUL 26, 2014
Bottle from Etre Gourmet. Pitch black beer, almost no head. Malty oak aroma, peat, chocolate, soot, hay, vanilla notes, tar, some cocoa, sour peat flavor, cigarettes, ash, vinous, milky, quite infected snd the heavy whisky kills everything that was good in the original Rasputin.

LoFi (1756) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 22, 2014
2012 bottle from backlog.
Almost black, porous beige head.
Aroma: peaty and light smoky, toffee, salt.
Taste: peaty, roasted, light smoky, creamy chocolate, fudge, toffee, used coffee grounds.
Nice, but not a great barrel aging as it overpowers the beer a bit.

SimplySike (1537) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAY 4, 2014
33cl. Bottle.

Pours almost black ruby with tiny tan head.

Aroma peat, smoke, whisky, caramel, sweet, dark fruits, chocolate, licorice, little coffee.

Taste sweet smoke, caramel licorice sweet, some coffee bitter.

Mouthfeel oily.

Amazing version stout.
