Almost clear dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is surprisingly light, not very RIS at all! Light fine carbonation. A very nice tangy fruits start, it’s almost sour. Dark fruits and a whisper of brett. The smokey whisky kicks in on the back end but never overpowers. Finishes smooth with a whisper of TCP. A very unusual RIS and one of the best aged in peat whisky barrels.
Bottle at home... Deep brown... No head... Light tcp... Dark roast nose.. Big big whisky front... Light roast... Soft toffee.. Whisky... Ok actually.. But not me Leighton (21083) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 20, 2016
Bottle shared in Richmond - many thanks to Daniel. Pours unclear brown with a creamy tan head. The nose has some sturdy peat, dark fruits, faint caramel. Medium sweet flavor with notes of candied ham, raw peat, ripe berries, scorched earth, hearty booze. Full bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, with lingering peat, earth, dried berries, toasted caramel. Interesting stuff. Not bad, but a little rough at the edges. fiulijn (20411) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 10, 2013
Bottle from De Molen beershop, Bodegraven, bottled 19 March 2013Koelschtrinker (20216) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - NOV 12, 2013
Dark brown color, not yet black, with small frothy head. The aroma is dubious, there is some peat, but also some vinegar, fruits, dust, light chocolate. Good body structure; nice flavor of caramel and some chocolate, with light sourness that adds dynamics; correct bitterness, with a lightly dusty final.
Good but dirty.
Runder, leicht säuerlicher und torfiger Antrunk. Rauchig, die Lagerung ist erkennbar. Rund, zum Ende eher laff, wenig säuerlich. 11/11/10/11/11/11 Theydon_Bois (19194) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 19, 2013

Decent enough smoked whisky impy, alcohol is kept very well in check, not too sweet.
