From tap Monks Cafe. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Fruity, almost winous, dark roasted malty. Acidic, roasted malty and overripe fruity. Acidic and roasted finish.

Bottle... Pours nearly black with a small, creamy, khaki head. The nose is a collection of fudge, peat smoke, caramel, damp moss and fallen wood. Full-bodied with a buttery mouthfeel and lazy carbonation. The flavor is certainly sour. This is more reminiscent of a bacteria-driven beer than brettanomyces and other yeasts. The flavor offers a mélange of fudge, caramel and fairly heavy acidity. Finishes tangy, and roasty with a kiss of toffee. Very enjoyable and wonderfully complex. While enjoyability is high, drinkability is low. Bottle provided by darkguardian!

Thanks to Roman! Pours a very dark black with a light brown head. the smell is smoke, licorice, roasted malt. The taste is tart dark fruit, licorice, mild smoke, super dry and rosary. The body is medium with average carbonation.

On tap at St Bock. Aroma of - yes - smoke and leather. Distinct tart cherry aroma too. Taste is... Woah. Everything. Sour cherries in the front, smoke and coffee, long tart finish. I like this!

En fût. Verre de dégustation au Saint-Bock (Montréal, QC) au coût de 4,50$. Arôme: Légère odeur de fumée et de céréales grillées. Apparence: La couleur est noire. Présence d’un mince col beige mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Léger goût de fumée et de brett avec une pointe de céréales grillées. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement vineuse. Faible effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de brett en arrière goût. (Rating #6056)

Bottle Color is black with medium tan thin head. aroma is tart roasted malt. taste had a lot going on. the barrel, smoked malt and sour tart finish.

Pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma really shows a lot...smoke, leather (hence the name), and some nice tart dark fruits...touch of vanilla. Flavor displays a touch more dark fruit but so many flavors are delicately balanced...Smoke, roast, vanilla, chocolate, dark fruit, tart and oaky...wow. Mouthfeel is light and the finish is dry and tart / roasty/smiky.

On tap at Saint-Bock. Pours a good black with no head. Nose is of green apple and roasted malt. Taste is of acetaldehyde as well with chocolate in the background. Body is medium and carbonation low to medium. A failure if you ask me, blah...

gEUS (1637) - Linden, BELGIUM - NOV 3, 2014
750 ml bottle at home. Pours deep opaque brown with a simmering foamy layer over the beer, no real head. Aroma is like cold coffee, mixed with forest fruit frappucino, finished with black currant and elderberries cough syrup. And all that in a very good way. Medium body with inded some leather taste, but the sourness takes away lot of the subtler notes; taste hides some of the most balanced raspberry in a heavy roasted malty beer, but sourness kills a bit the potential of it. I don’t get a lot of the smoke. Not the best stout experiment of the Molen, but one of the best sour stouts ever tasted.

Bue en bouteille. Bière sur le grillé et le fumé principalement. Très lourde en bouche. A peine trop pour moi d’ailleurs.
