GBBF. Labelled ’Rye IPA Chinook’ at the fest. Later confirmed by Menno Oliver to be a Bordeaux barrel version. Hazy amber beer, few bubbles for a head. Smooth palate, semi dry. Fine carbonation. Nice juicy hops - orange with a touch of peach syrup - well integrated. Medium rye spice. Semi dry finish - well joined up and rather nice! Tried and failed to discern any Bordeaux character but compared to the regular Chinook Rye this is smoother and a little calmer.
From the wood at the GBBF - 08/08/12. Clouded bronze with a minimal off-white head which soon thins. Hops, pine, caramel on the nose. Taste follows with a little burnt sugar. Medium to full body with a dry finish Scopey (14523) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 16, 2012
