Bottled 75 cL, BB 2010. Dark brown colored, small brown head. Malty nose, liquorice, some fruit. Bittersweet flavor, again liquorice, quite some alcohol. Quite complex, yet balanced. Unusual, but very good.

Martinus (4601) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2012
Reddish brown colour, beige head. Malty aroma, caramel, spicy, cardamom, candy sugar, quite lovely. Malty sweet flavour, light sour malts, fruity, molasses, very light bitter. Spicy, sweet malty finish.
Really nice. Quite sweet, but well balanced. Held up really well. More like a Scotch/Scottish Ale than a Belgian Strong Ale though, if you ask me.
(From 75cL bottle @ 2nd Tuesday tasting, De Molen, Bodegraven. BB 14-10-’10)

Bottle. [thank you Skortila/caesar]
Pours clear dark brown with a big, frothy, beige head. Aroma is sweet, lots of raisins and plums. Light flowery hops, mild spiciness and a bit of chocolate. Fat and lovely oily mouthfeel. Good flavour, starting with lots of dried fruits (raisins and plums). Lightly vinious, some coriander and clove. Nice, long aftertaste with soft hoppiness.
