Martinus (4701) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2012
Reddish brown colour, beige head. Malty aroma, caramel, spicy, cardamom, candy sugar, quite lovely. Malty sweet flavour, light sour malts, fruity, molasses, very light bitter. Spicy, sweet malty finish.
Really nice. Quite sweet, but well balanced. Held up really well. More like a Scotch/Scottish Ale than a Belgian Strong Ale though, if you ask me.
(From 75cL bottle @ 2nd Tuesday tasting, De Molen, Bodegraven. BB 14-10-’10)

dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAY 8, 2012
Bottle @ 2nd tuesday tasting @ De Molen. Aroma is caramel, bready, some spices, holiday spices. Nice. Flavour is rich and full, huge caramel, molasses, spices, touch of liquorice bitterness. Nice one, holding up great!

Vaiz (4460) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAY 8, 2012
Bottle at monthly tasting @ de Molen, hosted by dEnk. BBE 14/12/2010. Clear dark amber pour, foamy off-white head. Aroma of cardamom, caramel, spices, licorice and candi sugar. Flavor is very spicy, sweet and really well balanced. Held up pretty good. Well drinkable decent winter beer.

A slow gusher, but no other signs of infection. Dark brown cloudy beer. Frothy tan head. Slightly soft and slightly dry palate. Tangy and slightly spicy malt. Subtle coca cola. Malt becomes more creamy. Hop bitterness comes through as well as alcohol and some minerals. Aftertaste is somewhat metallic and bitter. Decent.

cheeta (1181) - Langå, DENMARK - NOV 23, 2011
Licorice aroma. Virtually none head. Clear, amber body. Moderate bitter flavor. Medium palate and creamy texture.

kappldav123 (6133) - GERMANY - JUL 21, 2011
Thanks to bierkoning for that one. Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass dark, brownish. Dusty-malty aroma, reminds me of cough syrup. Starts strong-malty, a bit alcoholic. Finish drier, modest fruity like plum. Aroma gets worse with every further gulp. Not the best De Molen beer.

EHSRanders (2086) - Tjele, DENMARK - JUL 12, 2011
Bottle. Murky amber colour with virtually no head. Malty aroma with notes of caramel and ginger. Sweet fruity flavor.

Beer5000 (6734) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 16, 2011
750 ml bottle. Dim, reddish orange body with a stable off-white head. Aroma is caramel, oat biscuit, brown sugar, ginger, citric fruit, yeast and some alcohol. Flavor is slightly roasted, sweet caramel, light burnt sugar, berries, spices and warming alcohol. Fine body, rather sweet but still balanced.

Bottle 750ml @ yngwie
Pours cloudy brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of caramel, berries, brown sugar, apples and spices. Taste is medium to heavy sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

ClubGonzo (5685) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 5, 2011
Bottle. Pours a deep, slightly hazy caramel body with a medium creamy beige head. Very nice. Aroma is dense, with licorice, coffee, alcohol, citrus peel and hints of cloudberries. Nice. Taste is caramelized apples, burnt sugar, spices, candy sugar. Pretty nice. A bit sweet, but full-bodied and a well-made winter warmer from De Molen.
