Clear amber coloured beer. Smels like canned strawberries at first, but hopps take soon the upperhand. Taste is dry, bitter a very little like retsina. jbrus (4989) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - MAR 1, 2004
Fruits and hops in the aroma. Orange color, cloudy, off-white head, good lace. Light sweet, fruity, grass, herbal, bitter, little dry. Technically a very good beer, but too hoppy for me. fonefan (50690) - VestJylland, DENMARK - FEB 21, 2010

Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
(Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm, 21 Jan 2011) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with citrus, caramel, hints of yeast and slightly earthy hops. Fruity, malty taste with notes of dried fruit, citrus, caramel and earthy hops in a dry, fairly bitter finish. Medium body, quite dry overall, with hints of yeast. Well balanced and very nice. bierkoning (13607) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - JAN 11, 2005
5,4% on the label. Bought at the brewery, 75 cl bottle, bottled nov ’04. Orange color, lasting frothy head. Orange and curacao in the aroma. Hopbitter flavor with some orange. Medium bodied. Somewhat herbal with hints of ginger. The gingery esters seem to be part of the house character of the yeast culture from this brewery, which is derived from Orval yeast, according to the brewer. Well made and tasty beer.

Bottled. Orange coloured. Unclear. Light brown dense head. Aroma of fruits, citrus, some yeast and spices. Flavour is fruity and flowery. Spice and yeast is there, and also some berries. Medium to full bodied. Is quite dry. Ends on a light bitter note with distinct notes of berries. Nice one easy to drink. JanEric (1244) - Meppel, NETHERLANDS - FEB 28, 2010
Amber to redbrown coloured, hazy, reasonable dense white head, bubbles. Fruity aroma, orange peel, yeast, coriander. Bitter taste, kind of smokey, lively carbonation, somewhat fruity. Finish is kind of abrupt, diminishing quickly. Also some sourness in the taste.

Bottled. Slightly hazy reddish amber colour with a small creamy off-white head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is zest, caramel malts, some mild yeastyness as well as some grassyness. Flavour is caramel and bready malts along with some yeasty and grassy notes. Smooth palate. thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 29, 2006
Bottle. Clear, deep amber, almost bronze with an off-white head that cloys to the glass. Sweet pear sirup aroma. Sweet flavours, mostly pear sirup, but some lightly roasted caramel and good offsetting bitterness as well. Dry finish. Good carbonation, medium-bodied. An above average Dutch ale with some unique features.
