dnstone (3625) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - JAN 9, 2011
American IPA-esque aroma with a stout chocolate roastiness. Deep chocolate brown in color with a nice fluffy tan head. Wonderful complex mix of hops (fruity, citrus peel, and slightly pine) with roast choocolate sinish. Great lingering chocolate/coffee finish. Fairy light mouth feel though the body is solid and the flavors coat the mouth and linger well.

Grima (2511) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - FEB 3, 2017
Bottle from Bierzwerg!!
2010 edition, so it should be aged well. Pours deep black with a small head. Aroma of toffee, licorice and chocolate. Taste has sweet chocolate, well paired with some slight fruity hops. Dry roasty malty, coffee’ish finish.

Alengrin (5884) - BELGIUM - SEP 6, 2014
One of De Molen’s many big stouts, this one dry-hopped with American hops. Light beige head, black colour; aroma of coffee, pine needles, tobacco, caramel, grapefruit, ashes, mint. Full roasted bitterness in the mouth, candied fruits but without the usual sweetness, a bit smoky, chocolatey, strong resinous and sticky hop bitterness in the end, citrussy and nicely integrated in the roasted bitter maltiness. Great impy - again.

Leighton (22769) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 8, 2014
Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours clear brown with a big, tan foam head. Dusty toasted malts in the nose with dry cocoa and light pine. Light sweet flavor with Hershey’s Kisses, dry chocolate, moderate earthy bitterness, dried bread. Light to medium in body with lively carbonation; oddly lively, in fact. Dusty cocoa finish with further toasted pine and earth. OK. Fairly tame for a DM stout.

mR_fr0g (13977) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 14, 2013
Bottle split thanks to Leighton. Weird aroma, roast berries, sweaty feet, roast. Opaque black pour with a persistent greyish light tan head. Flavour is roast coffee, carbonic acid, choc. Not much hop. Over carbonated, Dry finish, carbonic bite.

Theydon_Bois (21410) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - NOV 14, 2013
Bottle split at Craft Clerko, thanks to Leighton, 25/10/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a big ole light tan frothed up head dress. Nose is dark malts, soapy notes, dark fruits, toffee, banana fritter batter, brown sugars, thin aroma for an impy. Taste comprises dark fruits, earthy, light cocoa, brown sugars, not much depth for an impy. Thinnish body, fine carbonation, light roast in the finish. Drinkable but pretty weak for the style - not a revisit!

Scopey (16223) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 25, 2013
Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours murky deep brown, thick beige head. The nose is earthy, toast, cocoa, spice, unami and meat. The taste is cola, roast, toast, scorched wood, unami, some astringency and dirt with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and super high carbonation. Meaty. Palate ruined by high carbonation. Not great...

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2014 22.07.2013, 0,75l bottle @ home:
Big slightly fizzy creamy longlasting head. Aroma is rich, sweet and hoppy, dark malts, earthy hops, dark sugar, toffee, fresh pine needles, caramel, honey, leafs, rubber, licorice. Taste is slightly sweet and burnt, dark malts, hops, toffee, dark sugar, burnt caramel, cocoa, honey, leafs, pine needles, rubber. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Not a fantastic beer, but it’s very interesting, and in a way it’s a little strange as well. But it’s probably because of the beer beeing from early 2010, and I actually think I’d rather call this a black IPA.

Habanero (4908) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - MAR 28, 2013
Bottled. Hazy brown with a medium sized tan head. Leaving a fair lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and citrus. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and with bitter notes. Medium to full bodied, oily texture and soft CO2. A nice and quite hoppy impy.★★★★

Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - MAR 25, 2013
Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. Brewed Jan. 28, 2010. Pours a brownish color with a tan head. The aroma is a great mix of chocolate and pine. The flavor is very similar. I get a lot of chocolate and some roasted malt as well as some pine and a low amount of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

LoFi (1762) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 10, 2013
2010 bottle, #45/390. Hazy dark brown with a huge beige head. Aroma: fruity, some gunpowder, honey, less of the chocolate and licorice. Taste: hop fruitiness, licorice, cocoa, light burnt, grapefruit, quite bitter, dry towards the end. Medium bodied. Quite hoppy for an old beer.
