(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, murky golden to amber colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Sweet (cara-)malty aroma with notes of baking yeast, dates, dried figs, lemon, vanilla and traces of alcohol. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a very smooth carbonation. Slightly oily malty and syrupy taste with fruity and yeasty accents; syrupy sweet malty and moderately fruity finish with shy spicy notes and traces of alcohol. Too sweet and oily for my liking. 25.XIII.10 Tommaso (20) - ITALY - AUG 19, 2010
Golden orange colour. Fruity nose with hints of caramel. Sweet caramelly taste with lots of fruits and a bit too heavy alcohol taste. Quite good. Bov (12636) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUL 22, 2010
from Erzbierschof - cloudy dark orange colour with no head retention; aroma of apricot and cane sugar; almost no carbonation; very sweet, medium-bodied, weird spicy notes in a sweetish and slightly fruity finish - a strange beer gyllenbock (9160) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 30, 2010
Orange brown with a small foam. The aroma was quite heavy and sweet. Slightly tart with dried fruit, yeast and "dough". Also some citrus.
The flavor was marked by the complete lack of carbonation. The beer was sweet, caramel, some "earth" and some fruit and spices. Aftertaste was bitter, and I did feel the rather high alcohol content.
A drinkable beer but the lack of carbonation was a bit odd. I associate a Saison with a lot of carbonation.

(Bottled, 0.75, #666 ;) Clear copper color with almost no head. Barley-wine-like aroma of dried fruit, caramely malt, and slight lemony tartness. Flavor is very grainy-malty, caramely, and sweet-sugary, with quite low bitterness. Medium to full body with flat carbonation. It’s an ok - although quite sweet - barley wine, but has nothing to do with typical saisons. 8237 Nuffield (4171) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - MAY 29, 2010
Hoppy with effervescent alcohol driving the aroma upward, though still not as much as the abv would predict. Still, clearly packed with abv. Smooth, silky (not fizzy), citrusy, with a little metal in the finish but not at all astringent. Hazy yellow. Very good. Bottle. No sound at all when opening the bottle. Hmmm not quite what I expected from a saison. It pours hazy orange with no head and no carbonation. The aroma is fruit, melon, light hops and caramel. The flavour is caramel, melon, fruit and saaz hops. Its totally flat which does not suit the style. I sense the alcohol in the finish. Anker (723) - Hillerød, DENMARK - MAY 19, 2010
