Bottle at LCRBM 5 at Kulminator, Antwerp 2009. Tripel aroma more than a saison I thought. It’s good though, bit alcoholic. Interesting though and lovely tangerine which made me think more of a tripel than a saison, plus the alcohol.

DØE Valby 09. Pours unclear yellow with a white head. Aroma is light wheat, light caramel, fresh and spicy. Flavour is caramel, fresh, spice and some alcohol. Fin (10540) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 8, 2009
Picked up from Bacchanalia, Cambridge 03-10-09, consumed the following day at home. Pours hazy amber, really quite murky, white head. There is quite a bit of citrus going on in here. Finding this a little cloying at times, not unlikeable but a little too sweet and alcoholic as well to be a true saison maybe? A6 A4 F6 P3 Ov12 2.9 goozen (4071) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - SEP 26, 2009
Bottle 0,33ltr: Hazy orange brew with an excellent farm-smell start, fruity/citrus taste. Great Dutch version of the Saison-style. Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - SEP 22, 2009
Brewed on 3/27/09 and bottled on 6/9/09 exclusively for De Bierkoning in Amsterdam. One of 547 in the batch. Pours a dark and hazy burnt-orange amber hue with lively, effervescent bubble streaks. A tall column of rocky, ivory colored foam leaves heavy clumps of lacing on the glass. The aroma shows sweet, honey-glazed cereal grain with a mildly bretty, semi-dry overtone. Leafy hops lend perfumy, peppery notes, while coriander, clove, and orange peel lend plenty of zesty spice. The flavor profile shows mostly the same, sweet grain countered by both grassy and citrusy hops, as well as sharp winter spices. The yeast profile is bready, semi-dry, and mildly Brett-laden. Big bodied and
balanced, the palate is perhaps a touch overly sweet, but not annoyingly so. Good brew, but I think it needs a couple of years in the bottle to dry out to it’s full potential. Beeronaut (176) - Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - SEP 21, 2009
Aroma is quite intense, classic Saison farm yard, wet hay and lots of spicy yeast. It could definitely look more tempting, it pours cloudy with a bubbely head that dissapears to nothing leaving a whit smudge on top, looks a bit pond watery... The flavour is nice, though it could be made alot better with better conditioning. It is very sweet, almost a little to sweet for this palate. Lots of spice, the alcohol is certainly present, reminds me of a Saison crossed with a barley wine - well that’s what it is I suppose. Not masses of complexity, a liitle tart, some good fruit character, spices, apricot dried raisins. I don’t know if it’s hard to pick apart or if there’s just not that much to pick apart? Unfortunatley I’m finding it hard to get past the sweetness and overly present alcohol, underneath lurks a very nice Saison, but at this abv. I feel it is simply doesn;t get a chance to shine through. Palate could do with being a bit thicker, somehow it comes over as being a bit watery... Nice enough just not my cup of tea.
