330 ml bottle, kindly shared by abemorsten. Black colour, moderate tan head. Strong aroma of cognac, oak, chocolate, vanilla and coffee. Lovely flavour, with the same elements as the aroma. Hints of fortified wine. Holmen1 (6028) - Stavanger, NORWAY - JUN 7, 2013
Flaske delt med RBHD-guttene juni-13: fløyelsmykt, velproposjonert og med en cremet munnfylde med litt bærlig syre til å balansere herligheten med. Et strålende eksempel på eleganse og verdighet. Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - MAY 19, 2013
On tap at Arendsnest in Amsterdam. Pours a black body with an inch thick, dense and creamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is cherry dark fruits and chocolate with a nice roast, some caramel, wood, a light cognac, and a touch of licorice. Flavor is nice and complex. Woody chocolates with a nice roast, dark fruit, and licorice note. Some vanilla, caramel, cherry, and cognac. Finishes dry and smooth with a nice roast, chocolate, dark fruit, and slight woody cognac. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium, smooth body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a solid beer. A touch sweet on the nose, but a really balanced and complex flavor. Very easy drinking for the size. sir__v (2629) - FRANCE - MAY 16, 2013

Bottle, bottled on November 11, 2011. Pours a pitch black with almost no head on top. Aroma has cognac, oak, molasses and licorice all in the mix. Flavour is quite sweet with an aftertaste that seems similar to cognac, but more spicey. Definitely get the getting the molasses sweetness and high alcohol content. Very sticky, oily mouthfeel. No alchohol burn, just a very good sipper. SimplySike (1508) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - FEB 17, 2013
Poors black with tiny tan head.
Aroma cognac, alcohol, dark fruits, cherry, caramel.
Taste sugar, nice bitter, sparkling warming alcohol in the finish.
Mouth-feel oily, dry.
Awesome beer. The cognac is there, but not overwhelming, Well balanced sweets and bitters.
