Borefts Beer Festival 3. A late appearance rewarding those that stayed! Opaque black beer, residual tan head. Nice dark malt with a trace of dark chocolate. Mild brandy and oak. Nice minerals. Nice beer!
One of my favorites at BBF 2011, courtesy of Menno’s crew, thank you gentlemen! Murky brown color, brown head. Aroma of chocolate covered liqueur bonbons. Taste is over-roasted coffee, chocolate, vanilla, dark fruits. Great complexity and character, a real winner. cgarvieuk (26374) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 2, 2011

Bottled, at tasting at _angst_. Black, small coarse head. Licorice and chocolate, some cognac. Less full bodied than I remember the regular version to be. Salty and warming, rich on chocolate. Long bitter finish. Not sure I like what the cognac chips has done to it.
