COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
OG 1108, FG 1026, Color 388.7 EBC, Chinook and Saaz hops. Bitterness 93.5 EBU.

Stronger version of a Baltic Porter. Comparable with an Imperial Stout but without the heavily roasted malt character. This created a soft beer with strong hops in the finish.

2014.03.21 - De Molen Tsarina Esra - 11.2 oz bottle at Brewsters in L.A. Aroma: pretty neutral but has some earthy tones and trace sweetness. 7/10 Appearance: pours not totally but pretty dark, pretty much what you'd expect for imperial porter. 4/5 Taste: as in the description, pretty much a stout without the obvious roasted flavor. A bit of clear sweetness on the front end similar to de Molen barley wines, etc. Resolves to a very subtle roast flavor. Little to no alcohol burn, de Molen does a good job of making smooth high abv beers. 8/10 Palate: very smooth, sweetness, almost no carbonation, similar to other de Molens I have tried. 4/5 Overall: very nice. Turbocharged porter, quite smooth. 16/20

On tap @ LExpress de Lyon (Paris). Dark brown with a medium beige head and some lacing. Aroma is of raisins, liquorice, vinous notes, red fruits, roasted malt and wood. Taste is slightly sweet with raisins, liquorice, vinous notes, vanilla and roasted finish. Full bodied. Medium carbonation. Vinous mouthfeel. Good Imperial Porter. Interesting complexity. Impressively vinous for a non barrel-aged beer.

Barwa: ciemna, pod światło rubinowa, lekko zmętniona. Piana biała, niewielka, niemal natychmiast opadająca. Wysycenie niskie, całość dość gęsta i oleista. Aromat: owoce, karmel, czekolada. Dla mnie za mało porterowy. Smak: słodki owocowy, czekoladowy, z goryczkową kontrą i rozgrzewającym finiszem.

Great surprise.. its not only comparable with IMPs, but beats many of them. Pleasant roasted maltiness with notes of smoked, wood, licorice, choco decent hops makes this brew quite complex and highly enjoyable. Sweet with interesting bitterness combo from roasted malts and hops Very smooth. Awesome brew, must grab some more

Dark brown, almost black. Small beige head. Roasted aroma, coffee, raisins and chocolate. Thick, sticky mouthfeel. Soft, vinous alcohol appears after a while. Some sweetness. Soft carb and bitter finish. Delicious.

bottle from pivni rozmanitost. black at first glance but held up to the light it revealed a purple tinge; aroma of red berry, wet tobacco, licorice and coffee cream; loads of flavour - chewing tobacco and dark chocolate dominate; luscious texture; each sip more and more interesting
