33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a lot of sediment and a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, liquorice, and dark fruits. Flavour is much like the aroma. Theydon_Bois (19545) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - SEP 30, 2013
Bottle at home, from the De Molen shop, 30/09/13.
Pours a very dark mahogony brown with a thin light tan head that dissipates edgeward then stays for the show.
Nose is lightly soured dark fruit, dark treacle toffee, roast malts, hint of coffee.
Taste comprises brown sugars, cocoa, light coffee notes, treacle toffee, molasses, brown sugars.
Medium to full in body, fine carbonation, mineral bite and brown sugars in the finish.
Decent enough Imperial Porter. bax (1311) - Hasselager, Aarhus, DENMARK - SEP 28, 2013

Bottle. Two year old. The colour is pitch black with a light brown, medium head. Nice sweetish aroma of dark chocolate, oak, leather, roasted malt and some ash and port. Very compact and complex. Lots of roasted malt in the flavour as well along with more dark chocolate. Powerful and roasted. Nice oak in the end. Rich and sticky mouth feel, and has a light bitterness. Fantastically complex in every drop.

Bottle from Brewery Creek in Vancouver. Pours deep dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of raisins/grapes, dark fruits, rum, and surprisingly little roasted anything. Taste is also dominated by these dark fruits, and is quite sweet; only slight roasty notes, and not many IBUs in the finish. Big and sticky body. Not what I espected from an "Imperial Porter", but delicious all the same. Killcore (22) - - SEP 16, 2013
Same problem as the guy below. Infected bottle.

Off-notes (Vinegar? Rotten apple skin?) in both aroma and taste. You still can tell it is supposed to be a damn good brew - it pours very dark brown with diabolically red tint (just awesome!) and there’s a yummy cocoa note in the taste. But friggin’ sourness ruins all the experience...
And, damn, yes, it is not the first time it happens with De Molen bottles (always with the generic, black capped ones).
Will be def. buying again. hoping for a better one. RichTheVillan (7856) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - SEP 7, 2013
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark black pour with velvety beige head, balsamic vinegar aroma, I’ve giving this an average score but this bottle was clearly infected it’s happened too many times now, clearly this brewer makes great beer I’ve had them, but the QC is lacking. Pitch black with a dark brown fast fading head. Noses strongly of clear vanish, ethanol, alcohol with some light sweet toffee notes and roasted malt notes to it. The texture is rather slick going into oilyness. Full bodied tasting bitter with notions of sweetness to it. Heavy beer! With a nice well balanced slick finish, lasting for some times. Very pleasant after a steak! Cassius (93) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 6, 2013
In de categorie van Rhythm & Blues. Wel wat bitterder en minder zoet. Werd uiteindelijk moeilijk om af te maken, bleef niet interessant genoeg.
