COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
OG 1108, FG 1026, Color 388.7 EBC, Chinook and Saaz hops. Bitterness 93.5 EBU.

Stronger version of a Baltic Porter. Comparable with an Imperial Stout but without the heavily roasted malt character. This created a soft beer with strong hops in the finish.

Bottle from Asahiya. Big dark chocolate aroma, with some perfumey yeast and berries. Near pitch black, generous brown head. Sweetish chocolate initial; then the alc. hits in mid palate, with cherries, peat, and more chocolate, along with some bittering; a mild ashy thick finish and the final bitterness is restrained. Thin-medium body. Very pleasant and warming. Drink by 2036.... maybe too young. But very good, overall.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2013 Bottled. Pretty head on black. Lots of umami, meaty nose. Burnt ash, lots of fruit in the mouth, prune, raisin. Tasty and meaty, with rich chocolate. nicely sweet and just a bit roasted. Wine-like character too. Great.

Small bottle. Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma is ample dark fruits, prune, raisin, roasted malt, chocolate, and earthy. The flavor is heavy with dark fruits, prune, raisins, some sweetness, chocolate, earthy, wood; sticks on the tongue a bit.

Black with off white foam. Aroma is light vegemite. Taste is roast, then strong sweetness. Nice, but not super complex. Overall, one of the best imperial porters Ive had, but wish it had a bit more going on.
