(33 cl bottle from Brewberry with no front label just "Tsarina Esra Imperial Porter 2011 vintage" in handwriting; Bottled on 04/11/2011 according to back label) Pours black with frothy, creamy, tan head. Good retention and lace. Aroma is boozy with notes of roasted malt and dark bread as well as hints of molasses and oxydation. Full-bodied, soft carbonation, oily texture and a sweet and rounded finish. Flavour is figs and sweetness with a little bread. Quite a sipper. Dfonorow (2318) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 6, 2013

Disappointed... Lonick (2537) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 4, 2013
Very nice, creme brulle, salt licorice and caramac candy bar. Really nice warming beer with a bitter hoppy finish that works really well with the overall tone of the beer. JStax (7307) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - DEC 3, 2013
11.2 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a thick, viscous black with a thinner head of khaki colored foam. Decent retention. The aroma has notes of caramel, creme brulé, milk chocolate. Fairly sweet and chocolaty. Thick mouthfeel and body. Very subtle carbonation. Nearly chewy and syrupy. An earthy sweetness lingers after the swallow.

Superlativa! Haslinger (987) - The World of Beer, Texas, USA - NOV 24, 2013
12 ounce bottle shared with kegbear, pours a dark dark brown almost black with zero head. Smells like sweet licorice. Good dark roasted malt mouthfeel with a bit of anise. Almost chocolatey finish. Very very delicious. Would buy again zedisdead (8) - - NOV 24, 2013 does not count
Pours opaque black, slighty dark brown, very low carbonation. Thick light brown head that vanishes to around 5mm. Aroma : caramel, sugar, very nice. Taste is round with almost no bitterness. Palate is silky-smooth. A nice classic beer in the genre. Steve_0 (3818) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 23, 2013

Pour out of 375 mL bottle, dark black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark chocolate cardboard, hints of earth, coffee, slight earth, weird dark fruit. Taste is a mix of dark chocolate, dark fruit, hints of oak, vanilla, lots of cardboard, hints of earth. Ok.
