Stronger version of a Baltic Porter. Comparable with an Imperial Stout but without the heavily roasted malt character. This created a soft beer with strong hops in the finish.

rich aroma - coffee, vanilla, banana, chocolate, alcohol. Complex flavour; sweet with a touch of bitterness with pine notes - chocolate, caramel. Mouth feel is almost buttery. Somewhat hot.
This is a very distinctive porter.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours a big light brown head which turns into a creamy upper layer. Medium lacing. Opaque dark brown body, almost black. Aroma is complex. I sense coffee, liquorice, dark chocolate, soy sauce, toffee and toasted bread. Quite sweet in the nose. Sharp and bitter on the tongue at first, then becomes sugar-like. The sweet aftertaste lasts a loooong time. Excellent palate, very creamy. I’m not usually into porters, but this is one is fantastic!

Torrefacto (1779) - Madrid, SPAIN - NOV 15, 2013

12oz bottle (bottled 5/12) pours almost black into tulip with about 2 fingers of tan head. Nose is roasty, milk, coffee, raisin, boozy notes. Mouthfeel is rich, creamy, thick, oily, a little sticky on the end. Taste is dark bitter mocha, raisin, cream, coffee, chocolate notes, pecan. Finish is rich chocolate milk, bitter, nutty, coffee, syrup, some sweet dark fruit notes. Nice.
