Bottle - vintage 2015 - Dark chocolate, dark roast, molasses and charred wood. Jet black with a nice light brown head. Liquorice, molasses and sweet roast. Tinge of heat and coffee. Dark, sweet and rich.

On tap at Holy Grale. Pours black with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong wood, bourbon, oxidation present. Thick body, cardboard, roast, wood, bourbon, bit oxidized but good.

Picked this beer up in Holland a couple of years ago and let it sit. Deep, dark, tons of licorice, chocolate, and coffee. Thick and inky black. Wonderful barrel character as well. Another home run for De Molen.

Dark brown body with a soapy, lasting, beige head. Smoke, char, burnt malt, bourbon, alcohol heat. Smoke and char with burned wood and rich bourbon. Mild sweetness with a light tannic note. While the char character is incredibly forward, I still really enjoy this quite a lot, in spite of the imbalance. Distinctly European in style. Nice.

Drank 12-10-2015 while writing in my diary. Nice beer. Not awesome much taste. But still nice. Like it. Quite sweet, pleasant.

Black pour with a tan head and light lacing .... Aroma is slightly sour and of dark fruit, roasted and dark chocolate malt and very light vinegar .... Taste has a slight vinegar, dark fruity yeast, dark chocolate, roasted malts, some dry wood and a slight sourness ..... Has a little bit of a sugary mouthfeel .... Finished with more of a red wine than a bourbon ba .... Interesting brew not as good as the regular

joes (92) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - AUG 30, 2014
(old rating: ACBF ’12) Almost black beer with a light brown medium head. Aroma of roasted malts/chocolate, licorice, dark red fruit, red wine or porto (although it’s bourbon BA ...), sweet alcohol. Low carbo. Sweet and bitter are well balanced. Licorice/laurel/coughing sirup, sweet alcohol, red fruit, vanilla, roasted bitterness. More bourbon than in the aroma. Good.

Koelschtrinker (20398) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAR 31, 2012
Herber, stark malzig-weicher Beginn. Leicht rauchig werdend, dann milder, Bourbonnoten werden im Anschluss erkennbar. Würzig, tief malzig mit gleichzeitiger Frische, im Abgang kurz kratzig. 12/12/13/12//12

Smell: red fruits, boozey, herbs, chocolat, bit sour
