This to celebrate my rating #4900 on ratebeer. Clear dark black color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly dimimshing, beige head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, cream chocolate, licorice, vanilla, alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long long duration. Body is full, texture is oily - creamy - syrupy and so smooth, carbonation is flat. This is a beer that Mrs. fonefan loves and me also. It is so powerfull and complex - balanced - impressive.. Very very nice .. It is not for lager boys.... ;o)) It was my first and last beer the first 2 days on GBBF, Mrs fonefan did not drink much else the second day ... ;o)) Lovely work Menno, you are one of the best ! LCRBM08: 75 cL bottle, courtesy of Menno. Pours pitch black and with a dense chocolate brown head. Aroma is smooth and roasted, chocolate, wineous and spiced, very inviting aroma. Smooth and wineous flavoured to a dense roasted malt base with notes of chocolate on the back of the tongue. Nicely decending into the finish with a mild warmth and smoothness. btw: makes a fantastic blend with 3 Fonteinen Hommage :) Ungstrup (38385) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - DEC 22, 2011

Black colour, fluffy beige head. Aroma is wood, quite vinous, raisins and alcohol. Flavour ia sweet dark fruits, a bit vinous, raisins and alcoholic. Yet quite well balanced due to the oak barrel aging.
Bottle #806 poured by Glenn at Alvinne - thanks Glen!
Very dark maroon color with an edge head and some lacing.
Aroma of chocolate and bitter cocoa.
Flavor starts with milk chocolate then progresses to roasted espresso beans and vanilla, well-balanced.
Very good body.

Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Very black with small head. Rich roma of licorice, pear, butter and chocolate with honey and whisky coming through. Full bodied. Vinous and vastly complex with peatr-like calvados, butter and licorice. Salty finish with good bitterness. I may not be the greatest fan of this type of beers, but this is an awesome flavour bomb! madmitch76 (25568) - , Essex, ENGLAND - NOV 23, 2009

GBBF. Roasty malt - smooth and not too bitter. Good sourish whiskey like note but not peaty or smokey. Smooth ending with a touch of sherry. Lots of warmth.

GBBF. Opaque black beer. Soft palate. Rich and slightly spicy dark malt. A little unsweet wood and repressed chocolate. Less sweet and sherry like than last year.

GBBF. Barrel. GBBF would not be GBBF without this annual treat! Opaque black beer, bubbly tan head. Light and fresh dark malt. Seltzer like minerals, trace of herbs. Rich chocolate malt with a mildy sour woody tang. Finishes semi dry. Marvelous beer!
