pours unclear medium dark brown with a small beige cap offering some retention and lacing. roasted grapes, bitter milk chocolate, winey barrels - bourbon aura; peppery cherries, slightly overdone fruits soaked in madeira, dark toffee mixture, lots of spices, warming peppery alcohol although integrated. moderately low carbonation, medium body - oily; semi-sweet woody finish. it did age well if a maderized imperial porter is your thing - lots of fruit with a fun wine character as well. Draft @Brouwcafé de Molen. Pours a pitch black beer with a slightly reddish hue around the rim of the glass. Creamy, brownish head on top, settles quickly into a little ring. Aroma of light vinegar and vineous notes, loads of oak, boozy notes, licorice and toffee. Flavor has a nice tarty, red fruit-ish note in there, alongside some nice, sweet caramel and toffee-like characters. Balance is great, aftertaste is long and light vineous and carbonation is medium. Very nice one, even after all these years.
