Drank both at Borefts 2014 and Kaapse Brouwers. Pours pitch black. Giant amount of molasses, chocolate, apple, brandy, roast and oak. Taste is very sweet. So much flavour so it does not bother me at all. Very full bodied. Thick oily texture like imperial stouts should have. Long roasty finish. Simply amazing. One of the best De Molen’s ever made.

Sampled @ Borefts 2014. Now here’s a beer that shows exactly why I like de Molen. This one poured black as night without any head showing on top. Aroma of molasses, coffee, booze, oak, cognac and deep, dark malts. Flavor is very sweet, lots of booze, barrel characters and caramel sugars. Cloying mouthfeel and aftertaste is very sweet. Great stuff, great impy.

Pours black with a thin light brown head. Aromas of cognac, coffee roast, dates, some malt. Taste is roast up front, lots of sweetness from the cognac(?), some licorice, vanilla, caramel-like cream, some sweet fruits and a nice roasted bittersweet dry finish. Damn!
