Keg at Mother Kelly’s - London. Pours oily black with a dense, creamy khaki head. The nose is just immense sugary chocolate, dark fruits, roast, earth. Hugely sweet flavor with lots of gooey and oily chocolate, liquefied fruits, figs, dates, berries, mild smoke, scorched earth, strawberry. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, big and sticky, with burnt sugars, more chocolate, ripe dark fruits, berries, some bitter burnt wood, touches of caramel and Cahill. Tasty but it’s definitely a beast.
