Bottle. Hazy brown and red with a small beige foam. Aromas are berries and bready yeast with herbal notes. Some agricultural cheesy notes. Flavours are yeasty with raisins and berries. Musty with only a light sourness. Vinous with some floral aspects. OK. ricke (476) - Malme, SWEDEN - NOV 9, 2009
UPDATED: JAN 16, 2010 Bottle.
The pour is reddish brown and slightly hazy with a small tanned head. Some lacings.
The smell is primarily of tart fruits, malts and surprisingly prominent notes of oak barrel and wet wood. Hints of sweet fruits as well.
The smell is somewhat sweet and only mildly bitter with a restrained character of Oud bruin. Nice malty flavors and more rustic oak barrel aromas. Hints of vinous tart and sweet berries, vanilla and vinegar. The finish is dry and mildly bitter with a hint of something in the line of sweetish fruity alcohol.
Moderate body, refreshing and easy to drink.
I liked this one. It certainly isn’t very sour, but it has a nice general barrel aged Oud bruin character. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 8, 2009
Bottle provided by JohnC at the Socal sour tasting at stone. Glad to be able to try this. Pours brown with a tan ring. Nose is sweet and tart. Taste is muddled and pretty dissapointing. JohnC (3008) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - NOV 8, 2009
Thanks to Papsoe for the bottle.
I brought this to Dr. Bill’s SoCal Sour Tasting. When compared next to all the other sour ales, this one wasn’t very sour. I guess if there were a ’subdued sour’ this was it. wetherel (1886) - Cupertino, California, USA - NOV 8, 2009
Tried at 11/07/09 Socal Sour tasting at Dr Bills/Stone. Way over the top oxidized hops. No sourness. Not much else. Not as good as I was hoping, but I still really enjoyed the opportunity to try this rare beer.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a sweetish malty sour vinegar aroma. Sweetish fruity malty oak flavor with hints of red wine. Sweetish fruity malty finish. skortila (5905) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - SEP 9, 2009
Bottled. Aroma has red wine, maltiness. Hazy, red-brown coloured with a lasting, off-white head. The taste is sweet, has some sourness, fruitiness, some malts and red wine. Good beer. Had this one on several occasions, never really made notes. A rerate is appropriate. Miksu (5053) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - AUG 16, 2009
0.75 l bottle at PBF. Hazy reddish brown color. Sweet meaty aroma with red wine, nuts and tobacco. Nutty, woody and berryish red wine flavor. Needs more sourness and backbone, now this is fairly bland. fiulijn (20806) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 13, 2009

Hazy amber color; medium head. The aroma, mild, sourish, wild, is quite nice. It has a medium body and the flavor is less interesting.
Bottled at PBF (5.7%). Hazy nut brown, small head. A whiff of vinegar starts it off. Sweet buttery malt with some roastiness and oak carries it on over a medium body with a bit of yest and fruit. Finally it mellows out with low bitterness. Quite interesting.
