Bottled 75 cl (PBF, brewed 10/2008, bottled in 2009, alc. 5.7%).
Courtesy of bierkoning, thanks Edo!
Ruby-nut brown color, small white head. Blue mold cheese and red wine in the nose. Medium-bodied. Caramel malty base, light sourness, red wine barrel flavors. Quite mild and "drinkable" De Molen. Taste is mainly light sour berries and red wine. sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 4, 2009
(Bottled, 0.75l) Muddy brown with almost no head. The aroma is not extremely tempting, with strange sourness, red wine and oak barrel. Red-wineous flavor with dull fruitiness. In the finish, there’s also whisky-like oak barrel, with tannins all the way. Medium body, dry and slightly thin with medium carbonation. In a strange way I began to like this towards the end of my hefty 10cl tasting portion. Maybe not so bad after all... oh6gdx (26482) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUL 4, 2009
Bottled. Hazy brown colour, small beige head. Aroma is malts, some sour wood and yeast. Mild spicyness as well. Flavour is malts, some sour wood, miild toffee, some grass and yeast. Flavour is pleasant. yngwie (17038) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 19, 2009
On tap at Copenhagen Beerfestival. It pours a semi-clear, copper-colored body, topped by a tiny off-white head. Vinous nose, especially considering it’s a quite weak beer, with some alcohol evident. Maltyness too, slightly umami-like, and with caramel and a touch of lactic acid. The flavor is much the same, also slightly acidic and with some bitterness added. Full-bodied and a bit astringent. The finish is like the initial flavor, with some bitterness and a more pronounced sourness. A quite challenging beer, but given some time, I would gladly finish a bottle. øbenhavnske Øldage 2009. A dark amber colored body with a thin layer of greyish foam on top. Strong sourish/acidic aroma of dried yellow fruits. A whiff of wood and dark malts. A nicly balanced taste of fruity sourness, supported by a gentle malt body. Both fresh and rounded. Lasting, slight tart fruit finish. Nice indeed.
On tap. Slightly hazy orangey brown with a small off-white head. Sourish, woody nose. Medium body, lightly sweet caramel, fruit and wood with vaguely tart Brett accents. The finish is dry. 150509 Rune (12604) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 2, 2009
100ml on tap. Tiny head. Deep amber body. Tart fruity aroma. Fusion of dark fruits in flavour with woody malts behind. The acidity is not that insistent. Smooth on the swallow (CBF, 1605.2009). Ungstrup (37309) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAY 26, 2009
Draft. A hazy amber beer with a tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, fruit, and caramel. The flavor is acidic with notes of fruit as well as light notes of brettanomyces and wood. Borresteijn (6969) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - MAY 24, 2009
75cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Dark reddish brown colour, thin lasting off white head. Aroma of light sour fruits, dark malts, some oak, becomes more complex when the beer warms up. Flavour is malty and caramel sweet, light sour, woody, earthy liquorice root, when it warms up the whisky barrel notes come out more, which are IMO very nice. Light sour finish. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel. Don’t drink this too cold, you’ll miss a lot of nice flavours. saxo (18208) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - MAY 22, 2009
Sample at CPH beerfestival. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are fruits, malt, caramel and wood. Sour finish.
