Bottle enjoyed at home
Copper hazy, huge white head. Smell of fruity yeast esters, some funk, spices, light malts, farm aromas. Light sweet, funky and fruity, yeast flavors, spices, herbs; high complexity. Quite dry, moderate bitter, grassy tail. A very nice saison

Tap. Clear yellow body, medium white head. Aroma of mediterranean herbs, lavender, ripe apples, amazing flowery tones. Tasre is slightly bitter, semi-sweet. Whole flowery garden, apples and pears, lavender, lavender soap, herbs, herbal candies. Light to medium body, average carbonation.
Great, tasty, perfectly balanced saison.

Alengrin (5382) - BELGIUM - JUN 19, 2017
As Heksen en Trollen, bottle from De Hopduvel, thanks Jonathan for sharing! Rather thin and loose, off-white, bubbly head remaining stable as a thin rim around the edge and some patches in the middle, over a warm ’old gold’ coloured beer, initially clear but cloudy with sediment. Aroma of grapefruit, orange peel, old multi-grains bread, peach, soapy wheat, dry hay, jute, white bread crust, green pear, field flowers. More or less ’clean’ fruitiness in the mouth, hinting at peach, pear and unripe gooseberry, medium carbo, supple mouthfeel, bit soapy from the wheat, which along with the other grains establishes a pleasantly bready, bit cereally malt body with a ’deep’ sourish touch, matching well with the ’spicy’ graininess of the spelt. Ends in a long, dry, earthy and floral hop bitter finish with peppery and retronasal grapefruity notes. Very quenching, this is indeed as ’saison’ as it gets. De Molen can do more than impress with heavy barrel-aged stouts, that much is clear...

Bottle. Unpoured. Scent lovely complexion of saison and IPA properties. Taste is consistent saison with a handful of hops around 60 IBU. Finish flowery. Great.

Trolleo (1567) - Pula / Zagreb, CROATIA - JUN 12, 2017
Cloudy yellow to golden color. Aroma from the bottle is pretty hoppy. After pouring it to a glass, it is more like classic saison, hoppy, fruity and yeasty, orange and amarillo. Sweet taste with some sourness, nicely balanced, also fruity. Medium body, lively carbonation. Very much liked it. //bottle as Heksen & Trollen //1500th rating; February 2017.

bonkiedeaap (763) - Leerdam, NETHERLANDS - JUN 9, 2017
Bottle from De Caigny in Essen, Belgium. The beer is hazy golden colored and has a stable white foam, with good carbonation. The aroma is malty and very fruity, with grass, flowers, yeast, spices, citrus and some tropical fruits. The taste is fruity and yeasty, with floral and grassy notes and tropical fruits, with some spices in the end. The finish is dry and pretty bitter. Good brew!

Hazy peach color with slight off-white head. Aroma is quite spicy with coriander and some Brett like yeast notes. Taste is also yeasty, slighty spicy with some sweet wheat notes. Light to medium body with high carbonation. Overall it’s an interesting yeast forward beer with a good drinkability.
