Draft at BBF 2011. Subtle aroma, smooth fruit and decent chocolate finish. Not bad. jerohen (2348) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - SEP 25, 2011
On draft at Borefts Beer Festival 2011. Dark appearance. Cherries dominate in aroma, but all good things from the original Esra are also there. In flavor cherries are a bit more in the background, blending is nicely with the original flavor and adding an extra dimension. Not sure if it’s as good as the Reserva, but still this is highly recommended. suprchunk (2994) - Crestview, Florida, USA - SEP 25, 2011
Black color. Sizable tan head. Fades quick. Little lacing. Huge sour aroma mixed with chocolate, fig, raisins and coffee. Tart mouth with smooth silky chocolate and coffee and the bitterness of sour cherries. Excellent beer, one of my favs at BBF. Vaiz (4460) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - SEP 25, 2011
Draught @ De Molen. Black pour, thin tan head. Aroma of cherries, brett, earth, fresh fruits, some apple. Flavor is sour, somewhat bitter, quite dry, chocolate and fruits. Some coffee in the finish. Amazing brew, has everything in it I like about beer. For me, the winner of the festival. thebeermonk (24) - NETHERLANDS - SEP 25, 2011
Draught Borefts 2011. Tsarina Esra itself is a very good beer. But like this the entire taste is off. And not just a little bit, didn’t finish my small tasting glass. And it’s not that I don’t like cherry’s...

Draught at Borefts Bier Festival 2011.
Black coloured with a small beige head.
Roasted and light acidic aroma of cherries.
Roasted and light acidic flavour of cherries and dark chocolate.
Roasted and tart finish. Tweeke (37) - Wageningen, NETHERLANDS - SEP 25, 2011
Tap at Borefts 2011. Vinous aroma, that makes you wonder what on earth you can expect of this very dark beer. Surprisingly nice combination of sour fruitiness and classic Imperial Porter or IS traits like chocolate and coffee. Not a very pronounced cherry flavour. Good effort from de Molen, but a bit too strange and complex to be enjoyed on a regular basis. kermis (14488) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 25, 2011
Draft at BBF 2011. Hazy dark brown pour with a beige head. Aroma is cherries, fruit and some brett funk. Initial flavour is closer to a lambic, with the chocolate coming out in the finish. Surprising that this beer actually worked, I expected it wouldn’t. yespr (47077) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - SEP 25, 2011
From tap. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is fruity, wineous and mild acidic. Sweet, chocolate and cherry fruity. Bitter and fruity finish. Smooth and lingering wineous.
