Draught @ De Molen. Black pour, thin tan head. Aroma of cherries, brett, earth, fresh fruits, some apple. Flavor is sour, somewhat bitter, quite dry, chocolate and fruits. Some coffee in the finish. Amazing brew, has everything in it I like about beer. For me, the winner of the festival.

You don’t expect a taste like this coming from beer that looks like a porter. The sour taste is immediate and lasting. While it takes a while to warm up to, the cherries compliment the thick maltiness perfectly.

Tap @ BBF ’11. My last beer and also festival highlight of this year. Black pour. Sour fruits aroma with cherries. A lot of cherry. Sour taste but drinkable. Not a big fan of sour brews, but this one was just great! Loved the roasted hints in the background. Very good balance between sour and porter/stout. Just great!

On draft at Borefts Beer Festival 2011. Dark appearance. Cherries dominate in aroma, but all good things from the original Esra are also there. In flavor cherries are a bit more in the background, blending is nicely with the original flavor and adding an extra dimension. Not sure if it’s as good as the Reserva, but still this is highly recommended.

Draught @ BBF’11: Small brown head on top of a black beer. Smell sour, roasted malts, yeast, fruit. Smell is really good. Taste is a good mix of liquorice, berries, roasted malts, sweets/(brown) sugars, light sour. Light sticky, good balanced! Nice yeasty sour liquorice bitter aftertaste. Like it. Low carbo, full body, soft mouthfeel, light creamy/watery texture.

On Tap at Boreft Beer Festival, De Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands, 24.09.11 Pours black with a beige rim of bubbles. Aroma suggests a sour cherry onslaught but it is not as sour as you might expect. Easily one of my favourite beers of the day along with the Thornbridge Courage RIS. Tangy with lovely zappy cherries, wonderful flavours, mmhhh.... lovely. A7 A5 T9 P5 Ov16 4.2
