Boiled for 20 hours to create an umami flavour. Umami is the fifth basic taste next to sweet, sour, salty and bitter. By doing so we have now a beer that’s very thick and oily with loads of roasted malts.

On tap at the molen and in bottle. Color is dark black, with small brown head. Smell: Chocolate, dark fruits, soy sauce some hints of coffee and roasted malts Taste: quite complex, spicy, sweet chocolate and dark fruits, and in the aftertaste a great, extremely well balanced salty soy taste. Alcohol is very well hidden. Mouthfeel is very thick and creamy. The best beer from the Molen! Only stormaktsporter can beat this one

finol (3427) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 13, 2011
Bottle. Pours heavy black. Aroma dominated by cacao. Taste of smoked sausages, licorice and dark cocholate.

hirigalzkar (3203) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 13, 2011
Bottle. A quite agressive imperial stout (dark chocolate, licorice etc.) with lots of smoked, sausage kind of notes. The smokeiness is too heavy in my opinion and hides the other qualities of the beer.

SuperDave (1932) - Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA - JAN 15, 2011
Black with dark brown ring of head. Aroma of ash, smoke, bitter chocolate and beef jerky. Flavor has some light smoke, charcoal, chocolate, campfire, tar. Very nice!

FatPhil (16381) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - DEC 18, 2010
Tap (White Horse, Parson’s Green, London)
7 Massively meaty beef stock aroma.
4 Black, tan ring head.
8 Rich roasty coffee taste, gently bitter from burntness, but not astringent.
4+ Ludicrously full palate, slick and smooth. Just a gentle hint of carbonation.
17 Covers the alcohol well, but you can tell it’s a big beer.

Holy (837) - GERMANY - DEC 16, 2010
Borefts Beer Festival 2010, on tap. Full bodied, coffee, chocolate, slight alchohol. Nicely balanced beer!

mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 11, 2010
[3249-20100802] Tap. Rich chocolate hints and coffee notes in the aroma with an underlying fruity roasted date. Black body with a medium-lasting creamy tan head. Toasted chocolate and roast coffee flavour has a long sweet chocolate liqueur aftertaste. Full body. Very tasty!
(fonefan Masters Division Celebration @ The White Horse, London, England)
