8th May 2010. Copenhagen Beer Festival. Opaque black beer. Short lived chocolate coloured head. Rich dark malt - not that bitter. A fair amount of coffee but well balanced with some lactose sweetness. Smooth. Warming finish. Decent. stobbe74 (3789) - DENMARK - JUL 3, 2010
Sampled at DØE Beerfestival 2010, TAP1. Pours a pitch black beer with a chocolate head, nice lacing. The aroma is roasted, chocolate and licorice. The flavor follows the nose closely. The palate is fat and bold with some alcoholburn. Overall a nice and bold beer, but with a high alcohollevel. sfhodense (4788) - Odense NØ, DENMARK - JUN 16, 2010

The taste of coffee, sal ammoniac and vanilla. It starts a little sweet, moving to dry bitter. Alcohol notes in the back. Draught at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Very black, brown head. Concentrated hoppy licorice aroma. Dryish dense and full bodied with soft mouthfeel. There’s tobacco and salty licorice, reminiscent of a well aged good baltic porter, such as very old Limfjords Porter. Lovely concentrated flavours that never gets aggressive. Great stuff!

Small bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. The pour is as black as it gets with a thick very brown head that tends to fade but gets more and more creamy to the point when it settles an inch high. The nose is roasted with notes of burned malts, hazel nuts and a potpouri of bitter aromas. There are some notes of lacorice and leather and a hint of vanilla and wood. The mouthfeel is huge with a creamy palate. The taste starts of with quite some bitterness that tends to change caracter as the taste developes on its journey theough your mouth and down your throat. A mild bourning feeling on the lipps from the alcohol. There are some roasted coffee, english lacorice and some burned pieces of wood and finally a touch of alcohol. Its a good imperial stout with a great masculin attitude. Defreni (3286) - Husum, DENMARK - JUN 4, 2010

Tap @ De Molen. Almost black and opague. Maple syrup, smoke, tobacco, honey, licorice and coffee in the complex aroma. Sweet flavor with honeyish notes, ash and maple syrup. Lots of dried fruit. Licorice and smoky notes. Burning alcohol. Long aftertaste with grapes and smoky and roasty notes. Complex, more than excellent beer.
